South Carolina Youth Challenge Academy

The SCYA is operated by the SC National Guard at the McCrady Training Center on Fort Jackson Army Post. It is a 5 ½ weeks GED educational program. Its mission is to intervene in the lives of at-risk youth and produce program graduates with the values, skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to succeed as adults.

Eligibility Requirements

·         Citizen of SC and legal resident of the United Staes

·         16 to 18 years old, male or female

·         A high school dropout/potential dropout/expelled

·         Unemployed or underemployed

·         Drug-free (you will be tested)

·         Not under indictment or convicted of a felony offense

·         Physically and mentally capable of completing the program
