JCSD is excited about Teacher Appreciation Week and is looking forward to celebrating with our teachers and staff! We want to highlight and appreciate all of our amazing employees, not just our teachers, because at JCSD, we truly value everyone on our team.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating excellence!
We are very excited that one of our very own leaders, Dr. Stephanie Hart, will be sharing as a panel guest at the Women in Leadership Series sponsored by the SC Alliance of Black School Educators. Dr. Hart leads our CATE Center and is the force behind our district’s many CTE Completers.
In the coming days, if you have a child in kindergarten, your child will bring home an ID Kit. This kit is yours to keep and is at no cost to you.
In 2022, the South Carolina General Assembly unanimously passed S.1103. The legislation codified the South Carolina Child ID Program as a partnership between the Attorney General and the Department of Education to protect children.
As a result, you will be receiving an inkless, at-home child ID kit. This kit should take less than 10 minutes to complete, never enter a database, and should be stored solely by you, as a parent or guardian, in a cool, dry, safe place at home.
Around 11:30 AM, today, all Jasper County Schools and district offices were placed on a soft lockdown for precautionary measures regarding a threat communicated to Jasper County. There was not a known threat to Jasper County School District; however, because the threat was vague, steps were taken to ensure the safety of all. The lockdown measure permits school staff and the appropriate personnel to coordinate any safety precautions needed. JCSD would like to commend our law enforcement personnel, school administration, staff, and our students for working collaboratively. The lockdown was lifted around 1:00 PM.
