Parent Home Child ID Kit Notification (April 29,2024)

In the coming days, if you have a child in kindergarten, your child will bring home an ID Kit. This kit is yours to keep and is at no cost to you.

In 2022, the South Carolina General Assembly unanimously passed S.1103. The legislation codified the South Carolina Child ID Program as a partnership between the Attorney General and the Department of Education to protect children.

As a result, you will be receiving an inkless, at-home child ID kit. This kit should take less than 10 minutes to complete, never enter a database, and should be stored solely by you, as a parent or guardian, in a cool, dry, safe place at home.

JCSD Schools Entered Soft Lockdown, Friday, April 26, 2024

Around 11:30 AM, today, all Jasper County Schools and district offices were placed on a soft lockdown for precautionary measures regarding a threat communicated to Jasper County. There was not a known threat to Jasper County School District; however, because the threat was vague, steps were taken to ensure the safety of all. The lockdown measure permits school staff and the appropriate personnel to coordinate any safety precautions needed.
JCSD would like to commend our law enforcement personnel, school administration, staff, and our students for working collaboratively. The lockdown was lifted around 1:00 PM.

Student-Centered...Future-Focused!

JCSD cultivates an environment of excellence through innovation, inspiration, and opportunities in partnership with the community.
