The mission of the JCSD Office of Information Technology is to provide comprehensive, equitable, and efficient use of existing and emerging technology to engage, challenge and nurture diverse learners in preparation for global citizenship in an increasingly complex information society. We believe that technology is a tool. It is not an education itself, and it does not and should not take the place of a well-trained professional teacher. It can, however, motivate students and enhance the curriculum, and bring to the fingertips of every student a storehouse of research and information which increases student achievement and strengthens teaching.
Jasper County School District will use research-proven strategies to provide home, school and community environments conducive to our students' achieving technological literacy.
Jasper County School District's goals for using advanced technology specifically target student achievement.
Jasper County School District will provide curriculum development and professional development to increase the competency of all educators so that research-proven strategies and the effective integration of instructional technology systems can be used to increase student achievement.
Jasper County School District will use current and emerging technologies to create learner-centered instructional environments that enhance academic achievements.
