good evening everyone hello everyone Merry Christmas Happy New Year the time is now 1 where in Iowa Hardeeville Junior Senior High Auditorium I would like to call I will Jackson County Board of Education monthly school board meeting today's run tomorrow our mission is Jasper County School District motivating environment of Excellence through Innovation and collaboration opportunities in partnership with the I will just as follow well, we have mrs. Mitchell Ms rally mrs. Riley Obama on the balance Funnel Vision good afternoon Madam chair from the board I am here to share the updates on the calendar committee copies Odana cremation disability do you have some extra copies done it with you this wind is coming over to Napa tomorrow this should not take too long what I wanted to do though is to start off by going over the information that we actually shared during the virtual sessions that we have for the community to log in and give you the information that we shared we didn't send out all calls emails requesting that parents and the community attend one of these meetings so that they made an informed vote on the calendar for the 24 25 school year trying to get the flash pulled up and I can okay thank you message I love you come over tonight at 5 I saw the agenda was pretty much to do a review of Jasper as a district to do a general overview of the options that we had and then we went over some and how can support their children next line and I'm not going to read much of this just to show you what we went over we talk about Jasper as a whole the makeup of a school the numbers 4 and the numbers next line talking about the community-at-large based upon the census data that recently came out next Friday and then one of the things we want to try to always do when we're going over information or anything you to remind our stakeholders of what I visited mission statement is so we will view that as well as the beliefs next lie Monex live look at the current data at that time each of the schools and the makeup by school and by race we shared that we had a 90-member committing and we did work are school principals to get individuals to participate on the committee and so see the breakdown by who represented what school we shared the current state of Arkansas who would I report cards scores were this past year and then we reviewed our areas of focus as a district as an alignment with our district strategic plan and so it I won't read that but we did go over those specific goal with our public during those virtual meetings because again we wanted to make sure that as they were voting that they made an informed decision we shared the district goals and dr. Anderson share with us at the beginning of the school year and then we got to the most important part for the state department these are the things in which the sea Hastings East calendar has to have in order to be approved when we send our district calendar to the state department all they look for are these seven things do they exist within the calendar I put the wing to where I got this from four from the state department website so that anybody from the community to have access to it and see that it's specifically came from the state department and we are pleased announced that both calendar a the modified calendar and calendar be checked off all of these boxes as we were going through with our committee other thing that I wanted to share with the current breakdown and I just happened upon this didn't know it existed when we originally considered the modified schedule there were only five school districts or modified at that time currently in the state of South Carolina Highway 76 cool District 60 for a modified and 12 are traditional and again added the link for this school year for anybody who wanted to see it can see that it was not something that I created but it was something that came directly from the state department website so 2425 Jasper provided to calendar option we were view calendar option A which runs from July 24th through June 4th that was the modify calendar Thompson share that we went through what the colors made with everybody who attended the meeting what the circles and squares targets all those pieces meant we went through that during those got to stop by Melissa show next slide though people we would have you both calendar Option Day and calendar option b which was the modify calendar after presenting those I can clean you cuz you do have that hand out we looked at the pros and cons of each calendar and that information was shared with the community stakeholders who attended at that time and then again as I say that we went over how about the support we reminded parents to join. that they had a contact to Microsoft team and that they understood what class link was we also went over the major resources that were available to parents computer-based programs pay for tutoring I'm going after school to reprogram to my access find compass in the teachers and the mtss and interventions those are all things that they had access to to support their students are their children and then we encourage them to go take the survey what's a dependent at that time we were in the middle of already winter test went to diagnostic testing so we reminded them of important dates for the month of November into December and then the meeting ended and saw the process that we took the process and the results of the process that we took with something like this calendar was shared with the committee at the time originally we were going to do to community meetings but because I think on November 8th meetings changed to November 8th from its original date that disrupted the meeting that we can have at Hardeeville park and rec so we shifted it all our meetings to Virtual meetings and then after one of the meetings are with Miss nosey trying to reach out to something else and get them involved there were quite a few parents and said it would be difficult for them to actually get to a face-to-face meeting so they would appreciate the option to happy birthday meetings and so we made it termination at the time but again this is shared but I also put in here for you all if just comments from the process so disrepair and feedback we added some pairing from the various schools and we have those identified somewhere for additional zone for modified and most of them gave their reasons for that we have student responses that's cool and what they feel about the calendar options because we did have students look at it and vote on it and so those were broken down by each School dizzy and turns off Jackson showed up to the stakeholder meeting that we had online I thought it was important to share that information what do you have a total of 12 or 10 days from the community action attend to for virtual session however no videos were posted on my Facebook and on that website we ended up with a total of 781 views of the video and recordings that talked about the calendar options for next school year three major concerns that were brought forth in the response from the district that was a concern about the QR codes that were posted to access the meeting until we ship it from the QR code option to listen to meeting on that website and are on the calendar to make sure that our parents had access to that for wings to the meeting the concern was also shared that the link is sent via email from the district did not align with the link posted online so is she to just using those links that were online and again we also posted the videos online so that individuals to see that prior to voting I just put a note Marshall community meeting did not take place on Thursday November 16th however we did a live broadcast to make up for that time on November 22nd as a last-ditch effort to encourage our community stakeholders to vote prior to Thanksgiving break that was concerned that initial concerns that not enough stakeholders were involved in the development of the calendars we went from a very small committee that was primarily made up of District individuals to where I share I do that it was 90 stakeholders who were involved in a calendar element of the committee concerned that not enough time was given for the community to vote and I all committed stakeholders were given the opportunity to go the survey was available from November 18th to December 1st at 2 Facebook post emails and all calls were sent to encourage all stakeholders who have a vested interest in jcsd to vote concerns that not enough was going to inform the community stakeholders of the calendar options in the pros and cons reversible settings to play as well as a Facebook live broadcast in the dates were posted concerns that its additional option was not available are provided for parents to consider in addition to the modify calendar the district provided both the modified in traditional option this year concerns that District officials were sagging the boat in favor of the modify calendar the district has provided a copy of the results of the survey to the school board by stakeholder with identification for stakeholder group upon request the district a Vitamix a report by name excluding students to those who have voted for the academic calendar option for 24 25 also duplicate V were identified and eliminated and total they were 29 duplicate goats and saw the results what did the community when we look at it by school of attendance this was the number of votes that we had my School attendance 3:15 for Hardeeville Elementary to 15 for Richland Elementary 37024 Hardeeville 54 RZR secondary Academy of Excellence 25 or jcsd Cajun 64 beaufort-jasper 1/8 and 64 who are not affiliated with the school of attendance women look by grade level I will bring those numbers but we can see the right now my grade level then we look at who attended the community the community sessions we look at the number some 478 question 12 that they attended one of the sessions and we had a total of 793 when we look at the 12 people who we know for sure attended the live sessions Facebook 555 website 226 adjusting the camera for that Miss Mabank host of a school-wide chat with students and staff to share that kind of options and provide them an opportunity to vote as well as h e s ores in Hardeeville Junior Senior High School share the survey was provided them in Opportunity the bowl when we look at the breakdown by stakeholder for option A is it how it broke down for the number of vote for option day it was 664 the modified calendar and for option b there were 378 V for the traditional calendar for a total of 1038 volts when we look at it by calendar option student parent teacher how many staff and administrators I need is the order of ghost from greatest to least all stakeholder groups except parents prefer the add calendar to the traditional calendar and we have that data listed for you when we look at it with a percentile 82% of Administrators preferred cap not the modify calendar 87% community members that voted 34% of parents 55% of Staff 68% of students 66% of teachers for a total of 64% of our stakeholders preferring to modify calendar to the tradition yes so that the actual card numbers sofa parent's 51 parents voted for modified 100  go to put your digital it translated into so in this chart if you look at that first column on the right that's the number 51 and 100 in the next what it translated to okay sell for the 24 25 school years the recommendation of the academic calendar committees to dr. Anderson to recommend to this board that they see as he continues to modify calendar with her results that is my presentation at this time thank you. Boyd any questions oh God I think it's Bill me said that the parents would one of the groups that did not accept the motto everybody else did Batman I just have a little comment I know he went over I have a comment this is Elmo Colleen Atwood number of the paperwork that we just got a few minutes ago I mean Waste Paper could you can't even read it so I'm glad I did not even waste my time post office to pick it up that's 12 we did not have a Time no time to even study either calendar and I know what you're saying that the community and the stakeholders and the teachers and the students the same but I would have liked both of these myself before just getting any my hand tonight the other question to that with me and I hear you recommending that the modified calendar the modified but my understanding was to help the students but innocent from the past two years that we've had to modify calendar Community progress from them doing intercession I'm not even show up in a session actually be  at any of the school of the students that even attending any of their intersection so even with the test scores and everything that we've had in the past it doesn't reflect that the students are being held with the intersection that is supposed to be going on Ninfa's menu I bet they were first of all I want to thank you to stay out video 90 people you offered many opportunities for the community and us we could look at this on Facebook we could we could take the survey to I've seen the results since somewhere early December late November when when it was open for the public to read I did live with you so of going into the district this morning to pick this up so that I can so I can get it Hazard as a reflection of the efforts of the 90 people who are involved and know that the staff with a lot of time into this and we do make requirements from the state I think it's pretty obvious to me the vast majority of people want adoption modify calendar I know research show is this type of calendar does have results for passwords that I think our test scores are showing at starting to show it so if I fully support the motion to accept Spotify account I guess mine comment for the modified schedule is do we have the data to show the individualized instruction for these two because it was my understanding with the modified calendar it will be based on the needs of those students who are struggling students who need additional support students to wear in heels courses students who were in SC ready horses so do we have the data for that Thomas are you looking for a little confused as you got a question for me not exactly sure that the question but in terms of the research showing the modified calendar there's a lot of research out there that says about it what I know about the research but I said I wanted to know if we had the data to show the individualized instruction for these students who are struggling it was my understanding I don't know if it was other board members understanding but it was definitely my understanding that students will be working on their areas of weakness and that it wouldn't be just a cookie cutter curriculum for all students for intercession not on living miserable neck but first question so what's one answer coronavirus Peru in regards to whether or not we have data we do have data for this is that attend you can't produce data though for those that do not busy and we can't manage make it mandatory for them to attend so for those students said they would have came yet when we have seen the results. You'll see course in particular Hardeeville June where does it you didn't happen quite well for when they do come to the intersection and particularly mr. really is here one of his teachers in particular that is the purpose of what we believe she is doing a session for her success rate particular pass rate was it heals before before the students have attended for those individuals that Junior hey so just to piggyback off of that and I know you mentioned Hardeeville what about Ridgeland camp that's why I can't speak to the candidates for DLC data specifically but I can speak to it for Hardy Virginia senior high school so I have provided for the board we've provided pictures of the students that attended we provided for you in our newsletter well those individuals that are teaching excetera we pay them for attending we certainly do have individuals that do attend the Richland campus but they are more not as many high school students attend when I do speak to that principle but in particular when you mentioned the EOC we can certainly be for the morning would you use in your high school we can speak for all of us fools for those that certain that you would attend and have attended and we have provided that data sheet initially the very first in the session we sent that out to the entire board I personally did yes I'm working concern about individualized instruction different I'll just get them struggling are we working on the weaknesses for that child or wheat one particular standard and we're working at standard for all Smith's in that classroom for every give direct instruction first and then we break out into their i-Ready pathway yes and I can't visualize if I'm remembering correctly I where is percentage of 66% of the disk state are now in a modified calendar I can't remember the title check data months ago 64 School District that's way more than 50% so and I know the state department doesn't have a problem with it amazing people I know and several of those districts it takes a while for us to see it a lot of data you're such a police impound, Spanish and he can't speak to an individual people however I do know for a fact that some of the children home I wrote them I Street where I live pain what's the forecast for individualized and isn't another another young lady you're telling me he's not too stupid she was dating for individualized support so whatever the administration is doing it's working in that they are I'm just kidding I know meeting the needs of the students have for demonstrating week areas with substitute for pizza I do my grandchildren how did the people in the meeting that I can thank you any other comments with Rachel 2.2 questions with a modified cowgirl in the students who attend purple all that does is just open up to everybody or do we look at the students really touchy split reins and see what skills you need that help and then contact the parents to let them know you know that. they come in okay and then I heard it said that about the number schools in the state who that has adopted my account and it is all well and good but then is what's this one will not live another and then it's a process in which you use is that better the process so but I have to think about it and I think like a decision. I think and I'm not just everybody won't have not only that you need certified staff in those classrooms in order for it to work look at mr. That ain't all about the testicles we must be who said the test so I would expect by now for us to see more improvement in our test stores then we seen with the intersection. So is one thing I just want to know how do you select two students do we have certified staff working in there and how to view terminal Elementary level we measured the first was your first question was how have we contacted yes we did send out the information to all of our students there are targeted students that are done by their level of performance however again cannot mandate that students attend that is still up to the in your town but yes our schools are sending that information out and if you look at our data we have enough said. Riley we're going with thank you do it right along will minute a janitor move at the Bellamy who didn't have anyone else present at the time I do see cast and the team here is it the pleasure of his woman is Gerald didn't make the most of them are beginning to have all the presentation wound up I just want to make sure if it's the pleasure of this would ever move on with that oh and capital projects what's an information Capital project update is that project manager good evening where do they talk about weed tennis Association makinson Trinity to repair the Hardeeville tennis courts I have here waiting nothing the actual brands that they actually awarded to the school district thank you honey that were actually close to approval we're waiting on funding approval but we've got through all the rest of the stages so I represent an organization called public tennis we are on organization that is safe after of Annabelle of the USDA call Dan AKA njtl which stands for National Junior Tennis & learning to the USTA Foundation funds projects all across the country to grow a tennis and one of the things that they do is find renovation of tennis courts and here's a perfect case in point if the courts at this school are need of renovation and Reese crack repairs more specifically and resurfacing we applied to the foundation to see if we could get funding from them to do the work and sure enough they had a program which was running which was consistent with what we were asking for and we have taken it with this in conjunction with working with the school school school district we have taken an application through the stages of engineer interview and to the point of of a bachelor finding review but we're at the point at which we need to be sure that everybody is synchronized because it shortly if I would suspect within the next 2 weeks in they would be ready to fund the project if all goes well and a My Hope Is that they will fund almost the entire project of renovating these courts which is really great because it's about $30,000 work so working with John we did a review of the courts and we took that review to the USDA and we satisfied the first big step which was technical review and we just now waiting on the funding to actually I'm pre-approved I can't speak for them and say it absolutely will be approved at the $30,000 level to do the entire project but I am hopeful that it will be and I just want us to be prepared if we aren't allowed that funding that we ready to proceed because there's something that the school would have to do as part of the project as well which is really two things actually one is they would have to build an access walkway to the courts the concrete path to the courts which is in president presently a walk across the grassy area of which can be wet actually to get to the court so we have to have a proper accessible walkway to get through the course of that will be done by 10 School District I'm the only other thing that School District to do are the USDA is asking them to do is to robinette's new Nets Nets are not expensive typically around $250 each or around 700 $750 so the total for the Nets I'm so those are the two parts that the school districts would have to take care of and as far as time frame goes if all goes well with the funding is indeed approved which I hope it will be will be approved shortly the project would be ready to go in March we have a vendor we've got a quote from that she got quotes from two vendors that was a requirement of doing it project the vendor that we would pick on your behalf because we work we work with them in the past and they found a lot of work around people County in the past would be ready to go in March so it's a is possible that by the time April rolled around and all goes well this project could be done and by the way the half would not have to be done for the funds to be released so that part that you need to bribe you just have to provide a commitment that you would do the path in a reasonable time frame oh I should mention importantly as mentioned importantly that we would provide programming over the next several years at Sprint understanding that we have with the school district to use the courts to to actually put some school programs to in school after school and special needs programs as well so it after programs as well who did I find hold your bases so would be a no charge to the school to get started that is awesome thank you any comments from this board great was Gerald I have been waiting to hear this week notify that someone might be fun and apparently kid going to the feeling is one of those things that I enjoy the most when I was open the campuses in the courts so thank you that's great great to hear and I'm me as well as a who's showing up for sure and clearly dr. review as always our district motto is student-centered future focus and on this Monday January 8th of 2024 I will present to you it overview of our year at a glance again of 2020 to 2023 open with a quote and this quote resonates because it speaks to the quality a leader and it indicates that the quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves hearing this picture you'll do this as a leader here in Jasper County School District without the members that you see here assembled with me we had a pleasure to assemble last summer at this Castle annual leadership conference are moving our district forward in the best interests of children so I commend the staff members who stand with me who go before me who go with me but also those that follow me thank you so much for ensuring that we stand for excellence and we continue to move forward in the best interest of children and we are here to remaining students entered and future Focus my 2020 to 2023 annual review components will include the following policy and governance planning and assessment instructional leadership organizational management Communications and community relations and professionalism throughout this Temptation I will go through each of those components and I will list the artifacts that will be able to be previewed and viewed in the binder that has been created for each board have a baseline of last year because they are new in their beds cuz it says we are pleased to announce that we had an increase in our dual enrollment as follows we have $55 in a rolled 37 of those flowers were seed face-to-face instruction and online instruction with TCF and that is the technical college of the Lowcountry we have eight seniors pursuing at least one associate degree and three academic certificates we also have 10 seniors pursuing at least one academic certificate and I am excited to announce that we saw an increase in our cake completers 84 cake completed at the end of the They want to start a thank you for the support that she's given to the case building to our regular school building I want to see thank you for the support because without the support without the endorsement that she gives us we wouldn't be able to do half of the things that we do here today my name's Katie Garcia I don't have any children here but I have a little boy and her name's medium were in the past professional development has really helped me to grow because there's so much I have learned that I can pass on to my students I got a chance to go out and then professionally as well education it was meant towards the next stage I'm Julie Williams on the kindergarten teacher at Richland Elementary I've been working here at Ridgeland Elementary for 5 years I became a teacher because I want to change lives I wanted to make a difference I started my journey as a substitute teacher at Hardeeville Elementary then I eventually moved into a paraprofessional as I was getting my degree and then I moved into a teaching position and all of that started about 21 years ago. I seen the district definitely go forward I've seen her leadership skills take us in a new Direct I think the way she perceived learning is it's so vital to her it's such a vital aspect for children that she makes sure that the education of the children comes first and foremost about anyting and as long as she does that I think we're headed in the right direction and I've seen that take us from where we were to where we are now our scores are improving the environment has changed the whole atmosphere of the district has changed we've gone from a lot of negativity that we had to a lot of positiveness I've seen a lot of the leader changes for the positive I just think all in all we're headed in the right direction now from where we were going I think in some areas we were stagnant we were just stuck we're now she's got people in places that know what to do to carry us to the next level to where we need to be and I think we're headed in the right direction now as far as profession I think she's done a pretty good job we don't sit in the same professional development as we did before it seem like we were going to the same professional developments over and over and over here in the same stuff and it just seemed like I was coming out of her and we'll development I wasn't getting anything out of it I felt like my time was being wasted but now when I come out of one I feel like I have something that I can use in my classroom I feel like my time wasn't waste and I feel like that I'm being heard I fill out the surveys I tell you what I need and I feel like now they're actually being read and we're getting the professional development that were asking for that were telling you in years past I would fill out the surveys but it was like nobody was reading them or anything because we were still getting the same stuff from the same people with the same message and once you hear the same message for 5 times you don't need to hear it again maybe your new people do but we were all being put in the same professional development with the same message we're now she breaks it up for your new people you're returning people which makes a more sense because it needs to be a different message your new people need to hear one message and you're returning people need to hear a different message cuz we're on different levels so now I feel like I get something from it from The Professional about Matt that I get now I can actually use my i-Ready data I understand what the reports mean I understand what the data means and I understand how to use it to differentiate instruction for individualized students if we can pin do on this path I see success I see our scores getting better I see our schools and proving and our crschools getting better and our Syria are our kids learning cuz we're getting better is teacher so it helps us better our profession which in the long run helps our students if I had an opportunity to speak to dr. Anderson's bosses I would say thank you for giving her the opportunity to lead us she's a phenomenal leader she was my principal in Hardeeville she came in like a hurricane she definitely made a difference at that school she came in and she turned us around she made a difference there and now I've had the opportunity to work under her as my superintendent and I've definitely seen a change in the district for her coming in as the superintendent this time I think if we give her the Kennedy I think we see success and our future she's a phenomenal leader she's dedicated she's definitely got children in the Forefront adult don't come first for her children do and that's what we need in Jasper County we needed a change we got a change we have a change and if we keep her I think we're headed in the right direction hi I'm Latoya Lottie I am a first grade teacher at Hardeeville Elementary School have been here for the past seven years I first came to us but going to school district on a program from Jamaica's cultural Exchange program and my interview was from the den principal mrs. McAllister and she chose me the VA in this District in this County and I've stayed in this County for the past seven years because I really enjoyed teaching here I get the support I need the studio since the Collision is lovely and I got my support from the superintendent right down to the staff here at addaville elementary school so my first time meeting dr. Anderson the smile she has the right to smile and she was so welcoming and then she just greeted me with wands and love and I knew that you know she was a fabulous person based on her greeting based on how she approached me based on the conversations we had believe that she is a person who strive for excellence she tells you that every time she has conversations with the teachers at the open how's she tells us that you know we are striving for excellence basically and that is something that I have personally as a part of my character trait so that's something I really admire about that doctor Anderson professional learning in the school district has helped me a lot we I haven't grown up but over the years I've learned different techniques different strategies of learned how to work together with my colleagues and I've learned different ways of doing things working here Jasper County is totally different from working in Jamaica where I'm from so I've learned how to do things and one of the things I've learned over the years is to you data to inform instruction what's something that dr. Anderson has brought to the district from your perspective I think she has brought a high level of professionalism to the district she expects her staff to be professionals and we see that emanating from her she serves as an example and I think that's something that he has brought to the district and high level of professionalism I think she's an exemplary a boss superintendent I think she not only say what she wants but she gives us eggs a she demonstrates she shows us what it is that she wants of us and then she encourages us to do what it is that is best for the children and the overall District it has been really it has been a joy and it has been a pleasure working here in Jasper County School District I've been asked you know why I've stayed this long but it is my pleasure I find no fault in working here I love working here the entire atmosphere is a great atmosphere I am Joe Vitale I'm an assistant principal at Hardeeville elementary school and I'm in my third year there's a lot of things to be proud of with Hardeeville Elementary School I mean we have teachers we have our students that work so hard and have an amazing grit every single day they come in and they are Relentless to ensure that they do everything that they can to help our students succeed and we all are boiled machine working to become a well-oiled machine to ensure that we reach Excellence which is where our school district belongs and especially our Hardeeville elementary school so the outside the top way that we support teachers here is just your caring for that and making sure that we give them everything they need I believe in being a servant leader and making sure that we are spending time with our teachers providing words of affirmation acts of service and you know some find a gift here in there just to make sure that they're feeling appreciated doctor Anderson has been extremely supportive to the administration not only the newer and upcoming Administration for when I was first here but also the ones that are here you know the ones that have been here I've heard different things from various administrative about her ability to create environments of professional support for me personally I know that I was in the apla course you know and basically we were at hiring principles and we still and I still am an aspiring principal one day I will become one and I've become I've been coming Kris only confident because of the structures that doctor Anderson has put in place to ensure that I know everything that I need to know when I step into the seat and I feel confident with that for sure when I think a doctor Anderson two words come to mind for me I think of inspirational and I think a determined I say inspirational because at our district or treat Last Summer she had this motto excelling Beyond barriers and every school year every school district and every school is going to face challenges and when I taught when our school district faces challenges I constantly kept in back of my head excelling Beyond barriers and so whenever a challenge comes up I just think it's telling me on a bear is excelling Beyond berries excelling Beyond barriers until we overcome that challenge and that has really helped me and then when I think of determined and dr. Anderson I think she's provided all the resources that the school needs to succeed and when I think of determined I'm specifically thinking of the county of Jasper County and we're good and doctor and I'm certain that doctor and it's not stop with her attribute of being determined until Jasper County is great and I'm confident that she will take us there and and we will get there my name is Lucia tanek and I've been teaching in. the county for over 20 years I am one of the information support technology teacher at the new Kate Center on Park Avenue Kate Center that we have in Jasper County and we have pain Pathways the one that I am responsible for at the moment would be information support services and that is where I teach students how to build and repair computers and troubleshoot them currently they can get test out and CompTIA test out and come to you I has now merged into one unit so I'm I have had some of my students are you taking the test out come to your starter Jason and I had about 83% of them to pass the case sent to has actually been a major plus cuz we realize that all students and not College ready and we need to provide some type of skill-set for them for them to either go out to the real world or I have some type of certification so they can get some type of entry-level job and I'm a Playa those individuals who came up with the concept that we will have the Kate Center so we have another Avenue for our students to learn and grow I'm assuming that you are accusing come up with multiple actually yes we have aerospace engineering and some students have the FAA pilot license and we have students that have their CNA we have a dirt I do bees certification as well as forklifting I'm so we have many Microsoft Office certification Microsoft Word Excel and those are the type of certification currently then I'll students have the opportunity and has received how does it how does that benefit the kids in Jasper County since you've been engaged with the kids of Jasper County for the last 20 years how has this place help. kid as they move forward into the real world when I first came to Jasper County having such a Centre has not been one of on the list so basically out students at Scott's I'm prepared we prepared them for college with the court classes and things like that and we had like some business classes at the students had the opportunity to take but now that we have expand it and I'm feeling the need of the community and what they have to offer at this time our students can actually go into directly into the workforce and they can get their certification can get them entry level position and pay so it is a plus on due to the fact we realize that all about tennis and not going to go directly to college so they can leave here and go to technical school in further Advance what they have learned here professional development fair is always room for growth always room to learn more especially when things I'm involved the way it does something that we have ways to do something years ago we found another I am doing that which will be more effective and I applied on the district and dr. Anderson and her team for allowing teachers to have opportunity to learn new skills a new ways of doing things in professional development has helped us and not help teachers the old ones as well as the new one grow in their curriculum I never fell last question if you have now tunity to address the board and it's either provide an endorsement for Doctor Anderson or Dan or not but what would you say well actually I have gone I said I've been here over 20 years I've gone through many seasons many leadership changes in the district and everyone that comes with the superintendent whomever saying that they're made what is this Susan focus and I truly find that with Team Anderson student is her major Focus she has equipped herself with a wonderful team of Administrators teachers and staff so that the non-negotiable the no-nonsense doctor and since she allows ice to first time to grow within ourselves by way of professions development she also allow us to make sure that we put students the Forefront and that is where she is and I have seen a difference in and out students academically as well as culturally I'm due to the fact that the things that doctor Anderson has put into place and I applaud her for that and my thing is that if something is not broken and that's not need to be fixed so I'm I think.
