In summary, it is expected that at least 50% of students in Grades 3-8 perform at or above grade level on state assessments. It is also expected that students enrolled in end-of-course classes score a letter grade of C or higher on exams. JCSD will remain Student-Centered…Future-Focused and will not accept Failure as an Option! greetings Jasper County School District students faculty District staff family and stakeholders dr. Rachelle Anderson superintendent of schools and I want to take this opportunity to share with you the state of our district where we are going our focus and our expectations I returned to Jasper County School District in July of 2018 and I assumed the rain as your district superintendent of schools after serving The Jasper County community for the past four years and 3 months as your superintendent of school it is time to self reflect on this fate of our district more specific it is Paramount that we focus on how we can continue to improve academically and as a productive but professional Community most of all we must re-evaluate how to best serve our most valuable assets are Scholars and the families that support those Scholars while I am not afraid of the Jasper County community I am a member of this community and I am very proud of the work that has already been established and accomplished and I am even more excited about what the future where are Scholars when I think about self-reflection I think about the added that state sweep around your own front door before you try to sweep around mine but you're being that reflection as be fine by Merriam-Webster's literally states that when you examine and you self evaluate it is one examination of One's Own thoughts and and you know what well one's feelings can consist of many variables some positive and some negative it is important to note that one feeling are subject to change and feelings can also be misplaced Art District Mission says it's best jcfd cultivate an environment of excellent through Innovation Inspira patient and opportunities in partnership with the community the mission was again developed by undergoing a comprehensive and in internal planning process where discussion occurred involving several internal and external stakeholders from our school district family and our community how many members came together from all white that's why our Focus involved again creating a mission that spoke to the future of how Jasper County School District intended to move forward for the betterment of our public school system our work included and focused on the five following tenant towards success moving forward number one effective communication number to building Community Partnership number three excellent is the only option number four in facing diversity and number 5 educating children and agreeing to these five tenets the internal and external individuals and stakeholders developed beliefs that are action statement that can be accomplished if we all work to work the same common goals Jasper County school district has many accomplishment to be proud of a few of our district major highlights include a teaching and learning to be very specific that included Innovative instructional practices FAMU additional Pathways add it to our c t e Hagin structures Simba's curriculum development improve graduation rates to 84.3% in 2021 improved growth rate at Hardeeville Elementary from unsatisfactory to average Richland Elementary maintain average Rose rating for my hardeeville-ridgeland middle school to a good growth rate and the former ridgeland-hardeeville High School satisfactory growth rating to rating of able low average growth rate EB Community Partnership to include increased engagement with Sun City Congaree United Way of the Lowcountry the Technical College of the law country known as PCL the University of South Carolina Beaufort known as uscb Jasper County Council The Jasper County Chamber the Hardeeville city council and the Richland City Council see social emotional learning to include a full-time clinical licensed social worker as well as mental health support and D infrastructure this included opening a 10 million-dollar cake facility repurchasing and regrouping to ensure that we had vehicle Fleet replacement all of our school from elementary to middle school and in areas of our high school with collaborative Furniture security camera upgrade the purchase of an activity but we re-establish Community School from Kate well at both the Hardeeville and the when campuses the demolition of dilapidated facilities at the former West Hardeeville and Reems Creek campuses preparing for the demolition of the current jkap campus and complete Capital Improvements to the athletic stadium in Richland the potential of Jasper County School District always great we can accomplish anything we set our minds to anything that we said our mom to that matters most is definitely within our reach last year our district experienced Transportation was concerns from some regarding the modified year-round calendar and the reconfigured mission of schools this year not only have we effectively effectively reconfiguring our schools and we are operating under our modified year-round calendar we address our transfer Nationwide successfully Martin Luther King Jr said it best when stating the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort but where he stands at times of Challenge and controversy today I dr. Anderson I stand as an example of strength as an example sample of resilient as an example of commitment as an example of accountability as an example of dedication and serving as a paper Journal Advocate ER but most I stand as a leader with a Clear Vision sound ethical values morals and principles last week our district data was released but beta does not speak to who we are and what we are capable of achieving however while we are unhappy regarding our data picture we will not let it be an excuse for the greatness that we know we possess we will do come together and we will work to change it and to use our time and energy on teaching and learning in other words it is the expectation that at least 50% of our students in grades three through 8th grade perform at or above grade level All State assessments is also the expectation that students taking State assessment and of course examinations perform with a letter grade of C or higher there. Any ideals any behaviors any expectations and or events that are not focused on improving the Educational Foundation of Jasper County school district will have no place in any classroom in any school in any cafeteria in any hallway in any wrecks on any school bus any playground Etc in Jasper County School District we are about educating our Scholars and we're going to suit up every day and we're going to put on the strength and we're going to tackle the challenges and we're going to do it together if it is not about teaching and learning it is not about improving our academic outcomes if it is not about supporting the mental health and wellness and ensuring that our scholar are academically sound then do not bring it in the doors of Jasper County School District we will not accept it for the teachers and Educators here in Jasper County School District we work hard everyday and I thank you for fessional educators we give it our best every day and I appreciate you free doing it on just doing it and giving your best willingly for the sake of our young people we will continue to work towards improving our school success is the only option we must and we will continue to work on providing options that engage our Scholars to accept and perform when presented with rigorous academic enriching co-curricular options to be clear a failing school district in Jasper County School District is unacceptable and will not be accepted a Fielding student in Jasper County School District is unacceptable and will not be accepted for jcsd to be labeled as a failing school district it is unacceptable and it will not be accepted unequivocally understanding but our schools and our district will not resemble anything less than excellent is Paramore because mediocrity will not Prevail nor will it be accepted the stakes are too high and we will not accept failure as an option the epitome of Excellence is hard work a committed focus and a growth mindset and in Jasper County School District we will remain student-centered future-focused let's get committed jcsd let's get focused jcsd let's get ready to learn jcsd and improve who we are as a public entity providing public education cannot be great so let's go and be great because we are the great I am here with you as your superintendent of school and we will together and we will lead with resilience and accountability let's be great jcsd
