Our new modified calendar features several 'breaks' during the school year. During these times our students and staff can take some time away from the classroom to recharge and prepare to charge full speed ahead into the fall. These intersession breaks also provide the opportunity for students to receive help if they have fallen behind. what can I expect during intercession estate in a previous video for the 2020 to 2023 school year Jasper is taking on the modified school calendar therefore we wanted to the moment to explain to you what intercession days will look like for our students please note that intersection will not look the same for all students and we will review briefly the mock schedules that students May participate however we do want you to understand that for District's filing a modify calendar intersection days represent the periods at the end of each quarter or throughout the school year during which students can take short breaks and participate in Jason or enrichment small groups and other activities as outlined by the specified School District we also want you to know that during this intersection. There were there will be students and teachers who are not participating in the intersection days but they will actually be on break so if you look at what we have before you you see the chart of intercession days for the year in any Date With An Astrid means there are some instructional days and bedded and we have outlined those instructional days for you September 27th to 29th January 3rd February 14th to 16th and June 6th through the 8th don't answer session time. be 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the focus will be on Ela and math curriculum as they the earlier we have four different schedules that students may follow we know that there are students who are only going to attend intercession the intercession. So they will arrive at 7:45 they will attend their Ela and math intersection blocked I'll get a morning break with the snack and then they will depart for home and note that Ela and math are interchangeable so they may start with math and then go to ELA so on and so forth my schedule b r for those parents where students will attend in session and then Boys & Girls Club those parents who don't have the 40 to pick their child up midday and they need for their child to remain in school longer until they can get off of work or get someone to pick them up so that child will go through their intercession schedule and then at 12:30 they will attend the Boys & Girls Club until 5 p.m. or the set time that the parents said that they will pick the child up from the intersection my schedule C off of those parents who are struggling with childcare and those students will be attending the boys and girls only and those students can be dropped off at 7:45 and the Boys & Girls Club will remain open till 5 p.m. and ideally that is for our elementary school our students only again for those parents who need childcare and then my schedule D are for those students and teachers who are not attending intersection and we just simply say enjoy your break however make sure that the students are preparing for the next quarter to begin by taking it be which of our academic intervention programs for your class link that will be made available to them how can students be recommended for intercession there are four ways parents and Guardians can request that the at an academic teachers can make recommendations and administrators can make recommendations and then we do have some other circumstances that may arise in which we will address at that particular time but those are the primary ways in which students will be at to answer session the purpose for attending into session very slightly based upon the grade level and which our students attend and what we will specifically focus on know that there are academic reasons that stood can attend intercession but then they're also attendance reasons which means students have missed the more than the maximum number of allowed as per the school year and so they have to look at see time in Credit Recovery makeup and then I stated we have a group of elementary students who need childcare those parents need child care and so we have the Boys & Girls Club option additional information is that the enrollment is available based upon the number fastest we have available and that is based upon the number of teachers that we can get to work doing the intersection time and teacher and administration recommendations will be priority due to the limited number of classes available arrival time for all this is no earlier than 7:45 for all grade levels are breakfast and lunch will be provided into session ends at 12:30 and students who are not staying for Boys & Girls Club must be picked up by 12:45 however if they are staying for boys and girls club I need to be picked up no later than 5:15 by the district will release a registration link for parents to feel that you already want to recommend that your child can attend into session but that will be an actively all year for administrators and teachers to use as well to sign students up for the coming school year Miss Joy McFarlane and Dr Marlin Westbrook will be responsible for all the intersection time periods and if you have any questions you can reach out to either of those individuals for more information again for the 2020 to 2023 school year we are going modified and an essential element of that is that we understand our intercession days again anytime you have questions about intercession you can contact Miss McFarland are.
