greetings Jasper County School District families and stakeholders I am Dr Marlin Westbrook the director of accountability assessment and professional development I am elated to come to you to talk to you about our 2020 to 23 South Carolina ready Summerton data report Jasper County School District is committed to providing up-to-date information to all of their stakeholders every year students in grades third through eighth and English language arts mathematics and science are assessed to obtain their performance level as mandated by the South Carolina Department of Education Dana addition is to provide a summative report of the South Carolina ready for the 22 23 Academic Year to assist with understanding the report the overview and performance levels will pinpoint critical automation that can be used to assist you with interpreting the data so we have for performance levels does not meet expectations which the student does not meet expectations that Define by the grade level content standards and needs to cancel academic support to be prepared for the next grade level we have approaches expectations were the students approaches expectations as defined by the grade-level content standards and needs additional academic support to be prepared for the neck level meet expectation where that student does meet expectations and are ready for the next grade level as well as exceeds expectations where that student goes above and beyond and is well prepared for the grade level do some key points for one of our elementary schools Hardeeville Elementary School for fourth and fifth grade ELA our data reveals the ATF has less than 50% of in the does not meet category 5th grade math students that data reveals That 80's has less than 50% of students in the does not meet category there as well in English language arts Trend data from 2017 2018 until 2020 to 23 shows that students fluctuated from time to time so as we look at that and increase was evident from 2017 to 2018 to 2018 2019 with third grade going from 17.62% to 30.50 % of fourth grade went from 21.70 per cent to 35.70 per cent and 5th grade from 18.40 per cent to 23.40 per cent respectively and increase was also evident from 20 20 20 20 12 20 21 22 with third grade from 12.20 per cent to 20 3.2% and fourth grade 17.4% to 18.8% also we looked at another increase that took place from 20 21 22 to 20 22 23 fourth grade from 18.80 per cent to 31.40 per cent and then again fifth grade 12.50 per cent to 30.90 per cent simply put this means that our students are continuous learning and growing from grade level to grade level in our mathematics Trend data from 2017 18 until 20 22 23 it shows that I students again fluctuate it from time to time I ever we saw an increase from 2017 to 2018 to 2018 19 with third grade going from 25.90 per cent to 49.50 per cent and then again fourth grade from 20 points 2 per cent to 23.80 per cent and fifth-grade from 20.50 per cent to 25.90 per cent we also saw an increase from 20 2021 the 2122 without their greatest from 8.40 per cent to 20.80 per cent again another increase took place from 20 21 22 to 2223 was fourth grade from 7.4 listen to 10.50 per cent and fifth-grade 4.40 per cent to 18.50 per cent in so many words the math meets and exceeds categories have increased with four great at 10.50 per cent and 5th grade at 18.50 per cent for our elementary school in fourth and fifth grade ELA data reveals that res has left 50% students in the does not meet category and in third and fifth grade math data reveals that res has less than 50% but does not meet category when we look at English language arts in the Annex Eastern Data from 2017 to 2018 until 2022 223 it shows that I studentscores fluctuated but we saw an increase again from 2017 to 2018 228 in 2019 are 3rd graders went from 20.30 per cent to 23.80 per cent how fourth graders went from 26 per cent to 28.70 per cent in our 5th graders from fifth 10.2% to 20% we also saw an increase from 2021 to 2122 without their grades performing from 17.60 per cent to 21.10 per are 4th graders they increased from 21.80 per cent to 22.50 per cent and I'll 5th graders from 14.90 per cent to 20.70 per cent we also saw increase from our 20 21 22 school year to I-20 2223 school year with third grade from 21.10 per cent to 28.20 per cent fourth grade from 22.50 per cent to 29.50 per cent and fifth-grade from 20.70 per cent to 32.10 per cent the ELA meets and exceeds have increased with 3rd grade 28.20 per cent fourth grade 29.50 per cent and 5th grade at 32.2% mathematics meets and exceeds trim data from 2017 18 until 20 22 23 shows that student scores had fluctuated for some time but we did see an increase it was evident 2017 2018 to 2018 19 with third grade going from 27.30 per cent to 28.60 per cent and are 5th graders from 13.20 per cent to 28 per cent also we saw an increase from 20 2021 to 2122 with 4th grade going from 11.50 per cent to 14.70 per cent again another increase took place from a 120 22 22 23 with third grade going from 15% to 33.10 % fourth grade going from 14.70 per cent to 8 18% and 5th grade 12.2% to 31% the math meets and exceeds category has increased with third grade at 33.2 percent fourth grade at 18% and fifth grade at 31% for the 20 22 23 school year for Hardeeville junior-senior high school for a middle grade students in 6th 7th and 8th grade ELA data reveals that Hardeeville Junior Senior High School has much less than 50% of their students in the does not meet category eight math data reveals that Hardeeville Junior Senior High School has less than 50% in the does not meet category or English language arts turn data from 2017 18 to 20 22 23 show that student scores fluctuated from time to time but we did see much increase it was evident from 2017 18 to 20 18 19 with 6th grade from 15 Point 30% to 17.3% in 7th grade our performance went from 12.3% to 25% and eighth grade from 12.20 per cent to 25.50 per cent and increase was also evident from 2021 to 2122 with sixth-grade ranging from 16.3% 26.50 per cent and eighth-grade from 17.2 per cent to 26.70 per cent and increase also took place from 20 21 22 to 22 3 was sixth grade going from 26.50 per cent to 28.40 per cent 7th grade from 18.20 per cent to 22 per cent and 8th grade 26.70 per cent to 52.20 per cent the ELA meets and exceeds category has increased tremendously with 6th grade at 28.4% 7th grade at 20% and 8th grade at 52.20 per cent for the mathematics trend for 2017 18 to 2022 23 show that no scores had fluctuated from time to time however again we have seen an increase was evident from 2017 18 the 2018 19 with 7 grade from 9.90 per cent to 13.90 per cent and eighth-grade from 5.40 per cent to 9.20 per cent and increase was also evident from 2020 21 to 2122 with 63 from 8.10 per cent to 8.70 per cent in our seventh grade we went from 13.62% to 14.3 2% in 8th grade from 2.20 per cent to 14.10 per cent and increase also took place from 20 21 22 to 22 23 with c Gray from 8.70 per cent to 10.80 per cent and then eighth grade from 14.10 per cent to 25 per cent in 2020 to 23 the math mix and these category has increased from 6th grade at 10.8% and 8th grade at 25% so far Archie points with Richland secondary Academy of Excellence the middle grade students we have 6th 7th and 8th grade ELA data that reveals that are say had less than 50% students and the does not make category so in our English language arts Trend data from 2017 18 to 20 22 23 the data show that I have fluctuated song but we had an increase that was evident from 2017 to 2018 to 2018 2019 with 6th grade from 15.30 per cent to 17.30 per cent while seventh grade students went for 12.30 per cent to 25 per cent at Hickory from 12.20 per cent to 25.50 per cent we also saw an increase from 2021 to 8122 West Sixth Grade from 16.30 per cent to 26.50 per cent and eighth-grade from 17.20 per cent to 20 6.70 % the ELA meets and exceeds category has increased with 7th grade at 23.20 % do note that this trend data have been recorded from the Middle School and the 20 22 23 year reflects the actual data from risen secondary Academy of Excellence middle school students mathematics Trend data from 2017 to 2018 to 2022 three shows that our students scores fluctuated again however we saw another increase which was evident from 2017 18 to 20 18 19 with 7th grade going from now 9.90 per cent to 13.90 per cent and 8th grade going from 5.40 per cent to 9.20 per cent and increase was also evident from 20 2021 to 2021 22 with sixth grade from 8.10 per cent to 8.70 per cent seventh-grade at 13.62% to an increase of fourteen point 30% and eighth grade from 2.20 per cent to 14.10 per cent action plan to sail Beyond berries on our Journey 2 is these six facts we will provide assessment data training to district and school administrators we will also provide data-driven decision-making training to all of our teachers will provide monthly data dive to facilitate the tracking and monitoring of the significant shifts as well as provide opportunities for all Educators to be informed of the new accountability metrics will also provide stakeholder Community data meeting so be prepared to look out for those days as well as who ornate board work session for data accountability measures Jasper County School District is on a roll list
