we're going to go through sections C and eat this evening and you know kind of as we did in some of the previous directions we're not going to go through every single policy the ones that we had questions within the ones that have options listed there so section c has basically three policies that I think we need to talk about if we could get to that I think the first one is section c b d and this deals with the superintendent contract a c b d all right so this policy deals with the superintendent's contract and you'll see the the highlights it says the superintendent's contract is not to exceed four years I'm in this was a note from Tiffany Richardson that said this is your local law and the old policy that is fine I think four years would be appropriate and legal issues are the same if you look down a little bit below it it says the board will review the superintendent's contract no later than blank of each year we need to fill in the blank there but the bigger thing there is kind of all of the information in this policy should be already considered and addressed in the superintendent's contract which doesn't need then be in a separate policy so if you all like to have a policy that's good we just want to make sure the policy is reflective of the superintendent's contract the contract currently states that the review should take place in the fall of the year in the fall or we can just take this out because you have a contract which is the legal document as a board do you want the contract and the policy and if you want the policy the policy does need to be reflective of what the contract says armchair Joyce Tarot it happens chair take me to the superintendent contract contracts determines her length of work and all other things and it is illegal documents I don't see why we need is paragraph in our policy because does supersede this okay Miss Riley wants the one thing I am I understanding that if we have a contract we don't need this policy is that what you're saying they see what I'm saying unless you want to have a very if if if we can go to the very top of the policy is because I can't control it but you know you can you can you can have maybe the first two paragraphs and then nothing else but I just have a general statement that we have a superintendent we have a contract but you don't need the rest of the contract does determine what the legal parameters are that was my question yes I think the answer the question I wanted to know I want to pull up and she's saying that so the contract is saying the same thing basically what the policy is saying that's my question right paragraphs for 3 and 4 and season 1 2 and 5 I'm sure I have a question what she saying but I guess my question would be what this not be something that the Board needs to have to follow as a policy even though and I guess it next question would be does the contract and its policy doesn't coincide with one another right now no they don't this guilty is attorney so that is a legal document a document you have signed with her in the condo in a very close they're very close but you need to follow the contract you don't you don't need to have the policy that that goes along with it so I would recommend taking out against paragraphs 3 and 4 and 1/2 + 5 and then following the superintendent's contract I have a question with your recommendation does the school board receive a copy of that contract you should you should have a copy of it and if you do not we can have a contract a copy of it provided to you okay I would love to contact person there are a couple things in the bus policies and we don't have to go through all of them tonight as long as you all decide do you want to have people have a pre pre-employment drug test or not and if you do who's going to pay for it you or the person you don't like me and we can and we can change all the policies for you Vanessa that I have an issue with today South Carolina want to handle something that deals with the transporting be done by District vehicle or something rather than the private as you talking about whatever we say it should adhere to the fact that use the district vehicle and not a private vehicle so if we use it a private vehicle and something happens then the district as I mean District guy but anyway how would that affect the driver but they found a vehicle when you go to the options I think it says verbal parental permission is obtained I think it needs to be written yes I think the parents need to sign that they are aware that their children are riding in a private car is all is not always crap long as we have long as we have something but we can attach back because that voicemail made gets to no delete it I agree because if you your insurance isn't as an individual your responsibility as an individual and the parent and the district has nothing to do with it I am I understanding this Palisades let me understand this policy letter if it's all possible and that's what we're talkin about or something somebody get left after school the parents can come pick up a child you know if you got situations where the principal comes
