I'm here to introduce dual enrollment how do I run my program here in Jasper County School District I am very excited about talking about this concept of dual enrollment it's a great opportunity for our students here in Jasper County School District dual enrollment is simply a process or program that allows high school students to attain both high school credits toward graduation my pain is learning college credits towards a college degree that they say an associate's degree that will lead later into could be a bachelor's degree Bachelor of Science bachelor's art but they are different Apple that you can attain in the door with my program and I want to say this to just a little clarification can someone will ask what is dual credit for dual-credit assembly what the courses are called in the do my run the program you can earn do courses which means the same thing is Emily meaning that you are earning High School Credit as well as college credit at the same time for the same course the dual enrollment sample means that you can be enrolled in two different programs in other words you and at your high school and you also enrolled into a local community college at the same time hints dual enrollment but you are receiving dual credit for a college credit as well as High School Credit the program is real fishing towards not only the student but their parents for those without a pretty much decided that they will be attending college after graduation for secondary and studies show that dual-credit allow students to get a feel what for what it would like to be on a college campus one day you graduate from high school but at the same time it's saved the parent a lot of money because college is expensive and the way that the dual enrollment program is designed students are pretty Mike receiving college credits free is free to them is not for everyone but it is free to the student in the parents who will give them a jump financially as well as giving them exposure to the college campus life before they actually go to college so the students that I'm looking to attract to this program that I'm hoping that will actually be attracted to the program all those students who may want to go to college Oaks are they even know they have that they do have a desire to go to college yes, but then I was one of those student I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do so I say to all students at least prepare yourself to go to college with a knife and when you graduate high school if you decide to go into work for dash your choice but always give yourself that dark so I say do it now why is free to you and if it takes a little effort in time there are enter requirements for the program grade average grade point average what is it as a grade is one of the requirements and not only that state Assessor the state assessment leading into the program or other requirements the dual enrollment program is going to help pretty much everyone everyone that's involved in the process all the stakeholders If the parents because of the financial relief for those students take advantage of the program and I paying these college credits why they're in high school with no cost to them whatsoever not even travel the school district actually provides travel for students that don't have the means to get there dual enrollment is not a new in did it in Jasper County for when I understand it's been around a while so the only thing we're doing is pretty much revamp in the program giving it a new process and it was around so we're just bringing it back and the doctor Anderson always says where Jasper strong and not only that we're students entering and we have future Focus so that's what we're doing we simply obtaining a mission that has been set by our superintendent and this is a great initiative when it comes to serving I was doing it give an hour student the best they deserve the waters ever change in society
