Good afternoon, Team One Jasper Families,

I hope you and your family had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break.

As we return to school, we are entering a very important stretch of the school year. There are just 12 instructional days remaining before state testing begins on May 4. During this time, our focus is simple and clear: helping every student finish strong.

We are committed to making every day count. In classrooms across the district, students will continue to:

Focus on grade-level learning and key standards
Engage in daily instruction and practice using digital learning tools
Receive targeted support to strengthen their skills and confidence

We are also using this time to re-engage students after the break, celebrate their progress, and provide additional support where needed to ensure they are prepared for success.

As always, our work is guided by our commitment to Safety, Quality Education, and Transparency. These values remain at the center of everything we do as we prepare students for success on state assessments and beyond.

The attached slides provide a visual overview of our district’s focus during this final stretch.

In addition to our districtwide 30 For 30 reading initiative, JCSD students and staff have been working hard Beyond The Bell to improve student outcomes—and the results are promising.

Since launching on January 27, we are now serving approximately 400 students through after-school intervention/tutoring on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. With a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio, our scholars are receiving targeted, small-group support designed to meet their individual needs.

Students are engaged in meaningful learning experiences including homework support, direct instruction, digital learning platforms, and collaborative small-group work. Our teachers are also working together to analyze student data and set goals, ensuring every child gets the support they need to succeed. Student tutors are even stepping in to provide additional one-on-one and small-group reinforcement.

From poetry slams and recipe writing to math challenges and literacy competitions, learning continues in fun, creative, and impactful ways after the school day ends. 📚✏️

We encourage families to continue supporting learning at home by ensuring students read at least 30 minutes each day and access resources through ClassLink.

School Operations Update – Tuesday, March 17, 2026
Jasper County School District will resume a regular school schedule on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our students, families, and staff as we worked to ensure everyone’s safety during the recent weather conditions. We look forward to welcoming students back to campus.

Due to a forecast of high winds in our area, all Jasper County School District schools will operate on an eLearning schedule on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Students should follow their school’s eLearning procedures and check with their teachers for assignments and instructions.

Anuncio del Clima – lunes 16 de marzo de 2026

Debido al pronóstico de fuertes vientos en nuestra área, todas las escuelas del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Jasper operarán con un día de aprendizaje en línea (eLearning) el lunes 16 de marzo de 2026.

Los estudiantes deben seguir los procedimientos de eLearning de su escuela y comunicarse con sus maestros para recibir tareas e instrucciones.

During the Jasper County School District Stakeholders’ Strategic Planning session at St. Stephen AME Church in Hardeeville, Reverend Vanessa Johnson recognized a group of JCSD Dual Enrollment students for their academic success. The students all earned A’s and made the Dean’s List during the Summer 2025 semester.

Rev. Johnson gifted each student $100 to celebrate their achievement and encourage their continued success.

“We just believe in supporting our young people in every endeavor, and education is an area we invest in,” said Rev. Johnson. "Whenever we can, you know, from the youngest to the oldest, we just want to see them succeed. And an important part of that success is for them to be well-rounded and educated."

Jasper County School District's Dual Enrollment program allows high school students to take college courses while still enrolled in high school and earn both high school and college credit.

Students recognized include:
AlexE’ah Nelson, Ja’Nya Brown, Ayana Gant, Skyler Badger, Imani Rivers, Joseph Ferguson, Jamie Esquivel, Kara Loyd, Sage Williams, and Kenyatta Singleton.
