Federal Programs

The Office of Federal Programs is responsible for managing and supervising the District's federal, state, and public/private foundation grants and cooperative agreements. This management and supervision includes program and fiscal management and compliance. The Office of Federal Programs coordinates several compensatory education programs mandated by federal and state law.  The office also coordinates additional state-funded programs, which provide additional instructional resources to help targeted elementary students achieve grade-level performance in the shortest possible time. In addition, this office seeks additional funding sources to enhance the District's educational initiatives. The Office of Federal Programs manages compliance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act through the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Major Programs include:

  • Federal Programs - under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) - Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, and Title V
  • Federal and State Priority and CSI Funds for Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP)
  • Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA)*
  • Carl Perkins Vocational Act for CATE**
  • Summer Reading Programs/Summer School/After-School Programs^
