On Sunday, September 7, 2025, our team had the privilege of visiting St. Anthony Catholic Church.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Father Luis and the congregation for their kind hospitality. Dr. Laura Hickson was joined by Mrs. Nolte, our District Bilingual Parent Liaison, and Ms. Lastella Brown, our Jasper Family and Community Engagement (J-FACE) Coordinator.

The fellowship and dedication of the St. Anthony Catholic Church community were truly uplifting and inspiring.

Student Spotlight: Meet Cadet Captain Ashley Rodriguez, 12th Grade, Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence

We are proud to share that Cadet Captain Rodriguez has been honored with the prestigious Women Marines Association “Outstanding Cadet Award.”

She is being recognized for her outstanding leadership and dedication to the Ridgeland Secondary Academy MCJROTC Program, where she serves as the Executive Officer and is an active member of the Color Guard.

This award is presented to a female cadet who demonstrates meritorious service and exemplifies the values of the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program.

This prestigious recognition from the National Beta Club celebrates schools that not only grow their Beta Club membership but also demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the core values of achievement, character, leadership, and service.

We commend Principal Renata Johnson-Green and the entire RES team for their dedication to fostering student success and service. By actively participating in National Beta events, increasing membership, and achieving service hour awards, Ridgeland Elementary has earned this honor and continues to shine as a model of excellence for our district.
