Adams named SNASC Member of the Year

Of approximately 1800 members, she was selected for her dedication and commitment to the membership as well as going beyond her duties as a member and employee.


Adams has served all 26 years, at the Jasper County School District, in the Food Service Department.  She served as a substitute operator, head cashier, applications clerk, secretary, and office manager. Adams ensures all district memberships are current and conference registrations are handled correctly, in addition to her duties required as the Food Service Office Manager.


Adams, born and raised in Ridgeland, graduated from Ridgeland High School, and she has an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Adams has been married for 30 years, has two children, and one granddaughter.  


Also honored at the SNASC’s 64th Annual Conference, Ms. Kimberly Brown, Hardeeville Cafeteria Operator.  Brown placed 3rd in the Apron Contest; no one from Jasper County has entered the contest in 15 years.  “My Favorite College” was the contest theme, Brown designed and submitted a Carolina Gamecock apron. Mrs. Brown, employed with the district for ten years, in the cafeteria and as a bus aide. She is the mother of five and a student at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.


SNASC is an affiliate of the National School Nutrition Association. Nationally there are approximately 54,000 members, 1800 members of the South Carolina Association.


The Board of Education recognized both employees at their last board meeting.
