Watch: SSC May 2025 Board Report SSC May 2025 Board Report Show Transcript hello everyone my name is Ben Castillo I'm the project manager for SSC and today we're going to go be reviewing the Jasper County capital projects the project we're going to be discussing today is the original athletic imp project 1 of the things I want to touch base on is the Bus Loop asphalt installation that has been completed as you can see on the picture there on the right um they're at the bottom we've also completed the East Palm clearing and mulching uh that was really quick process there began the underground installation of the softball fields as far as the lines drain lines things as such and we also became clearing the walkway pass on this slide here as you can see on these top photos you know we routed the bond beams at the Press Box and the fourth Dugout and the fourth Dugout is the visitors uh you know Dugout so we have them numbered homeside baseball is number 1 home site visiting team is number 2 uh or baseball softball home is 3 softball visitor side is number 4 uh we're also continuing the CMU installation of the Press Box and dugouts um continuing to rough in the switches Outlets there are at the Press Box and the insulation of the chase is uh throughout the walls there the pieces that I want to show you here as far as these slides is a progression and I'm starting from the latest that we've did Back to prior to the last board meeting uh the reason why is there's so much going on at this project whether it's the asphalt the grading the dirt for the ball fields the sidewalks um again so much with utilities that there's not enough time to go over it so I just put some photos in here to kind of show you what we've been doing and give an idea of you know how things have been progressing that bottom second to the last on the right photo we see the Press Box you see those ballards there um the sidewalk around it that is 1 of the main pieces as far as we're wanting to show an entryway a main entry when folks come to the sports complex or walking over from the main building you know to show an entrance and this is something that we are in the process of having other districts come in by to take a view at what we're doing here for our uh baseball um entrance in softball entrance uh just to get an idea of what they may want to be doing here in the future for themselves again at the dates at the top right you'll see again going backwards uh as far as a timeline of what we've been doing the aerial out there at the bottom uh left-hand Corner second to the left is 1 of the my favorite to kind of really shows what's going on in that Press Box uh you can have the photos on the exterior showing it but not really on the anterior but again um just a photo to show the progression and what we're doing we do have our third party inspectors which is ccni and Terracon that have been coming out periodically each week to test the soil as any dirt has been moved any concrete that's being board and when I say poor they're actually testing it at the truck as it's coming out to make sure that the mix is correct before we let it uh continue this last or second the last I should say let me go back on this slide here the beams that you're seeing rebar going through the cinder blocks there that is something that is critical as far as any building that we're doing and we're doing a piece as far as a documentation with lots of photos and lots of testing to show as far as the durability of for this building during storms hurricanes you name it to me code for the State uh especially for the South Carolina region and um as far as at the bottom as you can tell we're doing the sidewalks and again 411 but again where we're at right now we're moving fairly quickly and uh as of right now we are still in good terms with all the ahjs uh throughout the state and local and we hope to continue that as we continue to move forward and completing this project if you have any additional questions please ask everyone take care Print
