Board Report: Dual Enrollment Update (January 2025) Board Report: Dual Enrollment Update (January 2025) Show Transcript greetings I am Dr Paula Murphy dual enrollment coordinator and I would like to provide you with an update on our dual enrollment program for 2425 Academic Year enrollment our program has been expanding exponentially as we have reached record numbers of enrollment in the history of jcsd for fall 24 we had 64 Scholars across the district enrolled in our dual enrollment program 60 of those students attended TCL and 4 attendant Columbia International University also known as CIU CIU do is a 4-year private Christian school that has afforded the opportunity for our students who do not have a Social Security number to participate in our dual enrollment program we currently we have 96 Scholars across the district enrolled for spring 25 which is a 33% increase from Fall enrollment 91 of these Scholars are enrolled at TCL and 5 are enrolled at CIU student achievement as our program continues to increase we're also seeing the growth of Student Success our students have completed fall semester with a passage rate of 96% consisting of students who've earned A's B's and c's for fall 24 we have 32 students who were recognized as honor students as they receive official letters from the vice president of TCL congratulating them for making the honours list for fall 24 which consists of making A's B's and having at least a 3.5 GPA in addition of these 32 Scholars 15 made the Dean's List by earning all A's for 5 for fall 24 congratulation Scholars additionally a special congratulation goes out to Richland secondary Academy of excellent Scholars for making all A's and B's and c's with face-to-face and online instructions for fall 24 Trend data as we review Trend data I would like to call your attention to fall 2020 when we only had 9 students enrolled in the program with upward trajectory of 96 enrollees for spring 2025 the number of enrollees also show a positive relationship with the number of courses students are taking as these numbers have spiraled from double digits to Triple digits in from 2021 to 2022 as it continues through the current Academic Year there's also a notable Trend decreasing shows the number of students earning D's fs and W's the fall 24 However unfortunately data does show that there is a slight decrease and the number of students receiving certificates and Associates Degree for 25 commitments compared to our 2024 commencement however we are predicting an increase 4 commencement in 2026 growth and expansion our expansion includes 6 jcsd adjuncts 1 instructor from TCL who also teaches on our campus for spring 25 hardyville Junior Senior High School will be offering 6 academic courses taught face-to-face on their campus during the regular school day this excite writing expansion includes moving from 2 adjuncts teaching 2 courses to 3 adjuncts teaching 6 courses face-to-face in addition students will also be taken online and hybrid courses to enhance their learning experience kudos to Hardeeville Junior Senior High School students at Richland secondary Academy of Excellence will be taking face-to-face course criminal J Justice course taught by the instructor from TCL these Scholars will also be taking advantage of 3 hybrid courses taught by 3 R say adjuncts in the evenings we've also expanded our program to include CTE pathways we currently have 7 students enrolled in the criminal justice program and which they will earn their certificate in 1 year additionally many of our health outside students have taken advantage of dual credit by enrolling in a medical terminology course paired with another dual enrollment course that will help them to complete their pathway or contribute to their meeting High School graduation requirements we also have students who will be earning a certificate 1 student who will be earning a certificate in computer programming we will continue to expand and explore CT PE options as we prepare our students for College and Career Readiness simultaneously lastly our expansion consists of dual enrollment Labs at each High School these labs are equipped with 5 desktops donated by TCL and which dual enrollment students can work on assignments independently also collaborate with each other and seek additional guidance and feedback from myself dcl's generosity also includes donating 10 laptops to each campus for dual enrollment students to use and if their school device needs maintenance commencement 2020 we have 5 candidates who are eligible to receive their associates degree along with 1 or 2 academic certificates and we also have 9 additional candidates who will receive an academic and or a CTE certificate thus giving us a total of 13 seniors eligible to walk across the college stage to confer their degrees and or certificates prior to their High School graduation in May 2 5 we look forward to seeing you at commencement thank you for your time and
