RHHS Junior Named 2014 Boys and Girls Club of the Lowcountry Youth of the Year A Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School junior has been named the 2014 Boys and Girls Club of the Lowcountry Youth of the Year. Charrae Priester, 17, and a member of the Jasper County Boys and Girls Club for the past five years, was announced as the winner Feb. 27. Ms. Priester was one of three club members from around the Lowcountry to be interviewed by a panel of judges to determine the winner. The other two club members who participated included Mercedes Alexis Evanofski, 17, a senior at Hilton Head Christian Academy and a member of the Bluffton Club for the past nine years, and Zhane Moore, 16, a sophomore at Hilton Head High School and a member of the Hilton Head Island Club for the past ten years. All three club members have had to overcome difficulties in their lives and each has been positively impacted by their involvement in their Boys and Girls Clubs. Priester, as the winner from the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry, will now compete in the South Carolina Youth of the Year competition April 23-26 in Columbia.
