I'm Renada Johnson green principal of Ridgeland Elementary School this is my second year as principal original Elementary School and this is also my seventh year in the district I'm at Doctor Anderson when she came aboard as the new superintendent of Jasper County School District relationship she has been very professional with humility definitely leads by example email text phone call I will I feel very comfortable about reaching out and just asking her matiz or her suggestion or her recommendation on what should we do move in for when I'm in a tough decision making process I have come to expect timely meaning for insufficient feedback whenever I'm rich route to dr. Anderson for support and reaching out to find out her expertise or what she thinks should happen next in any situation together everyone moving forward and making progress under our superintendent of Rochelle Anderson District has had many obstacles however she has that Vision that tenacity that is going to move and take us to the next level. I have been involved with the school district, school district and see dr. Anderson person is a certainly energetic and visible presence in the school district compared to almost all the others that I knew she concluded stretch where I believe there is 9 new superintendent over a period of eight or 10 years and she was quick to assert herself and put a stamp on the process C is very involved in in my view in issues that are really important of the school district understanding that she inherited probably a lot more problems than answers but my principal engagement with her what has had to do with managing the district through the covid pandemic we had did many school districts challenges trying to do the best we could to keep the kids in school and at the same time respect the importance of health and safety it's hard to measure success in this kind of atmosphere but one indicator that we were on the right track was that after the past holiday season as we went try to go back to school after Christmas and New Year we had 33 I think she she does effective job that I I think it's what all goes well for her success going down the road she she picks people okay I can trust this person or I'm going to trust this person carry through on what seems like the right right path freeze her up so she's not fooling around with the nitty-gritty of how to do a rapid testing facility or that kind of thing or what how covid policy should run a few less what year did you go to Madison would be a nightmare for any non-medical person cuz you're always change this one more than once try to keep up with all of that is full-time job by itself so you know I think if we're in the example I think she finds people who she knows will do the job and then gives now authority to to keep at it and she will see it through so you know I think that's that's the way she can waste herself trying to manage every little bit of every nuances going on at the school but the fact that she can have lieutenants in places or who who she can trust to do the job that needs to be done you know really is a big step in the right direction for the school district's figurine good evening I'm sick of things I'm the senior administrative student services for Jackson County School District about his leadership in compared to previous leadership I will say that there has been a concerted effort to have one message communicated there's not an individual who works in the district who's not to who doesn't understand what is meant by Student Center future-focused in a resonant to know that has a residence to it you know I think every individual knows that we are you don't work with definition and sentence and we're looking for what's next it have an established vision would be that thing that's most clearly communicated and under. Answers leadership that we know on a daily basis what are expectations are regarding everything we do is Student Center and looking how can we progressing and grow and be more efficient in the future under dr. Anderson to move from the assistant principal to bring it over to the services so I've seen that level of communication change to do our altar because it is used to be you know that information and knowing the amount of communication is that consistent you do we get emails that that reinforce her expectation will get phone calls there's direct line communication if I let you know. there's something that I've been asked for tasks to do and I just want some clarity you know she stops there's not been a time where I called that you answered on the first ring I'm going to call back in and she send a message to hey imma call you back whenever I get out of it and then when I have a question about player that I don't ever feel like but she never makes you feel that way okay I'm sorry I didn't do no I didn't get the if that's the way you like to go with me Central to grow professionally has been a consistent Morgan from your assistant principal of instruction to Virtual administrator last year that long bring up student services last year at each level that's been additional level of support that's not to say that is not growing pain but these are personal professional Growing Pains. she's helped remedy so whenever questions about you know how to waitress things such as tendons or how do I address you know our program a major undertaking a major task to make sure that we're providing a safe and positive learning route for my student for us to understand that we are meeting the whole child with their social emotional learning needs all she has been all in with helping to and provide guidance so if we still have questions or even need additional resources to know she's always willing to take a moment listen to say you don't like that to consider. Apartments pricing has grown to include two additional Personnel who have come on board and and worked tirelessly to make sure that developing a shared vision and having a clear direction for where the district is heading when you talk about the technology initiatives are you talkin about this  bus or all of these things these were sending all these things that came to fruition on her happy plan than and then you're very complex steps that had to be navigated so it's a wonderful thing to see through the opportunity that I students are not exposed to as a result of relationship mayor of the city of Hardeeville first of all I think it's important that I arrive to your ago and coming from a Northern Area used to hearing some of the negativity regarding the Jasper County Schools district and really understand so it took some time to the living here in understanding the roots of Worlds South Carolina and so if it's an evolution of understanding and learning as you be as I became a public official what's up with some portent understand in that time prior to doctor interesting coming there were two changes of the superintendent's so there was there was a well-known path forward talk to me and started communicating with us as public officials from another area and making us understand what those problems are and and what the solutions are necessary to create a path forward so the first thing documents and did was get us together and started to make us understand these things that we didn't grow up with a relationship now is all in conferences because it it's not just the education piece of which I'm not an expert and see his but it's it's the piece of how do we find homes for a teachers how do we solve some of the immediate needs of poverty such as food clothing school supplies and even toys at Christmas time we've collaborated on the all those efforts. with our youth Council dr. Davidson in in the principles have given us great student and may become part of our youth cancel every year and it's the quality is the kids are just so it's not just talking about what we need math skills or reading skills everything that goes into the needs of a community School District from housing 22 food to everything and whenever there's a need Doctor Anderson and I collaborate if you go back to prior to dr. Anderson every school district has challenges with space and dr. Anderson I don't have a sense in the community that there was a focused and a path forward that people cuckoo you do starting four years ago doctor Anderson and a belief that these problems can be overcome and the belief that there on the right past the solving and that belief is was giving people hope for the future yep the problems are still there there's still many challenges the face to head but if people have the hope the belief that we're on a path yellow brick road is going to lead to Oz then people will be patient don't understand and they'll want to help get to that destination and so everybody will be successful because they believe they can be successful.
