schools refrain from commenting on any student or employee present your comments without using any offensive language or making comments in a disrespectful manner comply with the 3-minute time limit there is nothing in the law or anyone here that prevents you from saying anything you wish to say what you say will become public information which is subject to the Freedom of Information Act foia laws if you choose to call Pacific Employees names with the desk that you don't it is my duty to inform you that you will be subject to defamation law according to your statement School District policy allows three minutes of comments what members in the superintendent's are not required to respond to your comment unless they choose to to the audience this will be out there will be no public few questions and you guys can raise your hand do any of you have a child enrolled in Jasper County School District how many of you are retired my reason for asking is because of putting be modified year-round school calendar and place for working parents with children it's been really really difficult with the bus situation I work all the way in Hilton Head Island or on Hilton Head Island that's an hour and 15 minutes from you in the morning sometimes two hours in the afternoon if there's an accident. flowers to easily turn into 3 hours the reason why I take issue with the modified year-round school calendar being put in place is because I personally feel as though my voice wasn't heard by the individuals who voted on the calendar if I remember correctly you all were told that there were a total of 394 responses to a survey I don't think 394 responses is reflected in the community usually the parents I think it was 175 parent participation on that surveys that in my opinion for the school board to vote Yes was not enough there's more than 175 parents in school district and a survey as one means of gathering information I just didn't think it was officiants for the school board about your phone it considering you have so many parents who work outside of this District thank you for hearing me thank you the consent agenda Terrell entertain a motion for the approval of consent my report in front of you the only thing please change from the report are the dates because we want to make sure the documents are fully ready to be bed at this time they're not due to some small items that they admitted on the document they didn't have for example they didn't incorporate the new name changes for the school so they're making those Corrections now we should be ready to go to market with this project by the end of the week and start advertising so we're just putting everything back about 2 weeks are there any questions this project is what so the timeline is moving from the pre-bid is being put from the 14th to the 28th for the the roof repairs or the flat roofs are there any question this tumor it will take approximately six months and one of the concerns that was in a report with the interruption of school absolutely you bring up a great questions to know because that is of the utmost importance obviously is the safety of all students to MB Kahn and we're going to come in here in a fashion with the appropriate general contractor that recognizes that so they have to work after hours they have to work weekend we are going to put up aggressive schedule in front of them but at the same time we want quality work and safe word it'll all depend on the contractor that we get who wins the bed and how we work with them and to be honest with you I'm going to be very meticulous about their safety record cuz I think that's important concern about mold in the building and they do I know you had a zoom meeting and came back and said I don't know yet the to say just the other day on the site at Hardeeville hopefully the school show them where it's been leaking and from a visual inspection it was very positive now I will say this if all the walls and both your schools were sheetrock or would I think we'd be having a very different conversation about right now but thank goodness they're tilt-up Concrete Construction water run through that very well I've got to give credit to sfc to because in the areas that would normally trap water like the ceiling tile if you went right over here that's where you would normally say mole being trapped has done a fantastic job of lowering the humidity in your schools which kills mold and also removing their ceiling tiles in talking with some of that sissy folks in the schools they even went so far as to remove some insulation up in where you can't see in areas that Gathering water for years what all that being said let's see how the test come back once I'll have a proposal for doctoring Anderson by build whatever we have to to move students through their safely we might have some outdoor quarters depending on the contractor we get and their recommendations but safety will of the utmost important for you once all these things have been decided like to the contractor is what their safety plan is the engineer has already put forward some safety recommendation the work that they're doing naturally the tear-off we will not do while there's children in your built-in movie I guarantee you that that's dangerous for thank you but putting it back on will save if the weather is clear in this week Jasper County it can rain on the drop of a dime anytime so we got to be careful how much we tear off as opposed to how much we're putting that into you said there is a delay and you know delay it school now so a copy of the year-round calendar so I'm trying to work when they're at the intersection time when there's not as many students may be at the school versus but there's a lot of children at the school absolutely is a matter I have already talked to some roofing contractors who tell me the approximate time it takes to tear off X number of square feet of roofing so we're trying to time that into my schedule and depending on who gets the bid once again tear off at night when nobody's there or late in the afternoon after school is already out and then build it back the next day it's Anderson coordinate with dr. Vecchio so that we can have that update on our now agenda OK dies irae dies Epass scores where how we're moving forward with interventions for our students and the mtss process for our students does have that as an update coming up and we will make certain that.
