Sheldon can you show us the PowerPoint do you have that thank you sir thank you can I see the next light please next slide please thank you but I wanted to do this month's as we all talk the follow-up from last month's meeting is is we made great progress since last month go back my please first thing I wanted to show you always is to field is actually being a formed work going on around the field with electrical conduits being put in the actual field has been laid out the turf field has been laid out and they're creating would call the curb and what the new fabric attaches to the is that the big topics just this month will be is to field is actually being installed the curb is is the perimeter and it separates to track and field and then we actually do drainage and then the turf actual Turf will show up in about 3 to 4 weeks I'll talk a little bit more about the turf but product that we bought was from a company called Shaw and are there on this date by board and they gay 3245 time frame delivery when we ordered a material shortly after last board meeting we were told it was going to take 90 days to get the material due to Kovach the material is made overseas GTA got a hold of our supplier we look at some other products that were available and we actually found a local product as made in America is called Ames field it's actually a step are in quality than the show product actually got samples we got all the information and and what we are able to do is is we were able to keep on schedule we we we stopped the order Shawsheen State couldn't deliver within 90 days we made an order through Greenfield the product started going in production last week it's made in America and we will have it on the beginning of November and it will start being in call Den don't wear a little bit behind schedule probably about two weeks for the material but overall we're doing extremely well because of the Kovach situation we were able to find material that's made in America it's actually better than the than the shawl material material was 62 oz to Greenfield material is 42 it's a sticker dense product plus it's made in America and plus we can get it in 30 days warranty warranty for 10 years manufacturer stands behind its excellent material that's the good news so this is definitely on schedule and it's on track did the actual crack will be actually be put down their fault go around the perimeter of the track and then they actually lays it over filled on top of that I'm sorry the rubber track on top of the asphalt that's all coming in today because in the next check please can I see the next I face as we were able to finish the Jake that with all the storm drain as you seen that we have her on Shelby's in the rain Garden Falls of the drainage systems are put in on the ground including for all the parking lot so now that the storm drains are done they're actually grading the parking lots and we're putting in underground electrical for all the parking lot lights next flight to these Metropolitan I'm not sure if you heard me up my PowerPoint so I can follow it worked on the scoreboard the sound system so security cameras on an electronic gate controls that's all being taken and place we've met with all the contractors that were actually going to install that under the school board contract we all work together with the contractors and I'll be glad to say that I'm going to share with you some change orders that I think you're all going to be very pleased with some of the pictures on this site you can see is this is one of the biggest things we did Matchbox we actually did a demolition project inside we were moved all the shooting and we found some damage has been Press Box the floor was damaged the ceiling the roof was Adam in the wall when we put project out to bid Wheels 25% of repairs to the structural there's no change order to do the repairs that the that the Press Box needs the engineers just put all the scope Gator and that's being done as we speak Hickory ticket booths family restrooms those concrete pads are going in right now and we're roughing them in or actually we're adding a visitor ticket ticket booth on the the visitor side of force and then the family rest or adding on the home side next to the existing restroom we've also got the new bus route for the student and pick up area I'll roughed in and and the electrical is being installed in those two areas slide as you all know we went out to bid for the den bushings for the West Hardeeville and Beech Creek locations we had our mandatory. We had representing show up and we're opening date on the 19th of this month and then we will evaluate the bits that we have and make recommendations to miss Carter to actually except one so we can start that project ministration building windows and upgrade for ADA compliance that's actually in we've actually met with McMillan and you're creating a a schematic so we can actually look at the interior design improvements with the Ada and we're going to go out to bid once we get to Stoughton specifications to replace all the windows Early Learning Academy I'm sorry yes sir questions man in chair he's talking about the drainage but remember we had some serious issues with the drainage problems at both campus and so they saying that this is going to be different but my thing is I heard him joking about change order when we do a budget we do a budget to make sure that that's the budget and that's the budget and so I want to know if we have to go in to do anything different how much the contingency all the how much more money be going to need to make this thing correct he's saying that he don't think that it's going to be but I don't like change orders not at all until I just want to make sure did they got a good grip on the project to make sure that we trying to get the back best thing for no dollars and we don't have time to give anymore money that we don't have you're correct and I think of you finish to get to the change orders will have that discussion so he's he's just going through that thank you very surprised with the change orders that I'm going to discuss and I'm going to get to there very shortly running academies signs would met with the team again and we're trying to do is understand the building footprint should we can actually put together a rendering that could have who is initiative down the road for fundraising that's all being done Master plants Hardeeville we've actually started the survey at Pardeeville the surveys needed so we can actually know where the perimeter of the campus is it about 135 Acres good chance we might need to push the tree line back a little bit for some of the reconfiguration of some of the fields and we won't know if we have that room until the surveys done once Hardy toes done we will do the same thing at Ridgeland campus has already been going copters for loans we got accepted under a and under that they're actually going to award the to replace the hot water heater drinking Fountains at both campuses right now our engineering team is actually doing the design and Engineering for those is done and will be able to go out to bid for both those projects very soon get those two areas fixed now get to the change orders and I'd like to talk about three change orders that we've seen since last board meeting change order it's actually a credit change order when we looked at the parking lot little January back 15 months ago when we started looking at this building we really didn't think we were going to look at removing the building and building a new one as quickly as we are so the original plan in this project full power out of the Chick-fil-A and provide all the new lights around the new locations from that building and we're able to do is is we were pull power from the stadium power and instead of about $30,000 we actually get that $10,000 back from the contractor actually number the correct number is $10,083 in credit back from the contractor since we chose to do the stadium power and not identity Jake app that most likely will be turned in a new building place the other invoice that we got so part of this project and the gentleman on the board was very correct when he said we put together a big packet and we went out to bid for very specific scope part of part of the project at Jacob part of the part of the things we're actually Mr Shelton was doing and what we wanted to do good partner with mister Gallatin of courses school district and corporate things like conduit for the scoreboard and power for four different things for for the sound system we actually was able to help with our contractors eliminate the need for outside contractors to do some this work so is $97 to cover this work after many hours of after any hours of negotiations in and Mr Shelton and myself and contractors got together at $63,000 change order was $23 back in credit so what I'm glad to say is this week we actually came back and we leave Levin a little over eleven hours back to the district we don't need any more at this time and we actually needed the $63,000 that was not good that makes 2/3 happy go to change out a master mode right Credit Credit money back about 13th $10,300 and it's a it's $11,200 and $7 that's a good change do we all agree OK Google call Mark doesn't want it blowing up wanted to come to you for change orders and believe me you have a lot of gray hair is coming out of my head because I am one stubborn young man who is totally against even come with you and ask you for any more money and I'm pushing our engine Frankie Minar contractor do the best weekend to eliminate that in my power so I can't say it'll never happen but I'm really enforcement and the conclusion based on the foregoing discussion and Analysis at the Judgment of the Court the plane motion for temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction has been granted so they affect the defendants are enjoying by enforcing the provision which is a violation of title suit Section 504 and the plaintiff should not be required to post bond so what this is says any time Medishare it's our responsibility to protect our children and CDC the two ways to do the social distancing and wearing of masks along the vaccine and since they're too young to get the vaccine then the next two steps that we needed the social distancing and the mask and you know there's no way we can social distancing end classroom because of the number of students and the in the perimeter of the class so that we can do do what we need to do it with the boys are able to do and that's mandate that mask of Warren anybody else I'm a  chair this is Joyce Gerald I'm pulling in agreement with Miss Mitchell we follow the science we follow the recommended by scientists and we protect not just our students but everybody who were District because she know the child could still bring it in an adult is not nice you don't get sick and it spreads like wildfire so I'm in agreement with the recommendation that everyone the superintendent has the authority to ensure that everyone is wearing a mask to protect everyone in the district adult and children yes Madam care to agreement with what and Miss Jarrell is saying in reference to it authority to ensure that our students are protected as well as our staff members as well so I feel like that and it should be mandated students with disabilities if you know they are unable to wear masks due to certain health concerns then there are i e p meetings to make those decisions and put it in you know their plan is i r i p students and 504 students what everyone else should be mandated to wear those Rollins yes I was going to say that I also in agreement that may I speak mandated into schools and in a public area on the school district school grounds I'm in agreement that I don't know if that's an option for some kids that may have a medical issue can't wear mask so that's something that we need after you know like this two of us just said something on that but but I am in agreement Mass the same thing about students Are we at the end of this month to give a report in Shield the feedback in regards to the information that we are compiling for our visit in the upcoming year that concludes my mind freak update thank you Ivan H disc strategic Plan update do Jean Bellamy good evening to the jcsd board. Anderson and all District staff and stakeholders joining us virtually it is indeed my pleasure to share go with you a brief updates 12126 you should watch the TV plan I am mr. Bellamy and I serve as the chair of this committee missing Shelton if you'll go down first I wanted to share a brief overview August music man with us of course we're developing goals on that talks about where we want to go I desired outcomes how we get there we're going to look at strategy measures and targets to determine how we measure our success look at the actual results to see how we did and then we looked at cycle and we talked about how we can improve those plans are centrally focused on the vision and mission of our district there for mr. Shelton if you go on we are excited to have dr. Peggy Tori from transform South Carolina working with us to install a vision statement mission statement and beliefs align to the work that we are doing today academic excellence and to become a premier District can the state of South Carolina next slide the three questions that are pivotal to the work is where are we now where do we want to and how do we plan to get there and we look forward to working with Dr Tori as we move forward next line the big question is why is this work important that we're doing with the Strategic plan record everything that we do will essentially be aligned to our cognia review and accreditation and it is to ensure that we are Building Systems rooted and grounded in excellence with caring and focus on teaching learning collaboration engage and rigor all of that is centrally focused on our students next line to fill this we are grateful that doctor Anderson has shared her five-year Vision with our team herbison along with data we are using will ensure that we develop a plan that will Propel us into greatness in order for this to work we must ensure that all stakeholders are Unified my efforts to be Student Center and future Focus understanding that strategic planning is worthless unless there is first a strategic Vision that. Anderson has made very clear to this committee a dream written down with the date the goal a goal broken down into steps becomes a plan and a plan backed by action makes your dreams come true and so the work that we are doing is truly functioning in the action element and showing that we are allowing a boy's for all of our stakeholders next line we are grateful to have strong subcommittee chairs and place who have embraced the work of this committee to ensure we review our previous playing refrigerate and develop at a diner plan for the next five years leaving no stone unturned and no voice on her all committee members have been assigned to a subcommittee our goal is to finish the district playing prior to Thanksgiving break so our schools can begin developing their individual last plans iPhone Chi include as you can see student achievement on that is chaired by Dr Sam wack Recruitment and Retention that is chaired by Dr Marlin Westbrook and it's the Wesley terrill School climate and culture Chair by mr. Evans and mrs. Jordan Farland teacher and administrator quality chaired by Mr Seneca bang and then of course as stated. The toy will be working with us on a vision statement mission statement and beliefs we also want to recognize Miss nosey who was working RPM Community Focus Group and Mr Giles a first grade teacher at res who was working with our teacher and student focus groups additionally I see I'm sorry our primary goal is ensuring that we provide an opportunity for all stakeholders to contribute to the development of this play I do want to briefly share Mr Giles gave an awesome report on how a student I'll share with him he said that story with the committee, we were injured we were interested in what the students are the depth at 5th Grade Student was able to go in 2 in terms of what they see as focus is that we need for our district moving forward we were also able to sit in on our parent and community subcommittee and we answered a lot of questions while we the captains in place now but it did highlight that we have to do a better job of ensuring that all of our pants and Community are aware of all of the great things that we are doing I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as chair of the skin and at this time if there are any questions I'll be happy to answer them ladies and gentlemen are there any questions by Sabella me guarding this plan have a lot of work lot of data not too and he is the right person for it cuz he's all over with it so great job to be a part of this team but it does take weekly he has weekly meetings for us I mean subcommittee meetings committee meetings every Wednesday at 3:00 punctual on time you know updating you so thank you very much this ability for the hard work and we know that I'll just check will come up with a great plan the statement is going to be awesome I encourage all of you if mr. Bellamy hasn't done it if he can maybe share that first live mr. Bellamy that you sent out to the team to the board members would have actually had that the groundwork that's it that's taking place I think that would be I've been good just a review you know as to what this committee is doing awesome work and it's update. Anderson board members very quickly I'm just a priest I just want to highlight I'm the stem Department I'm from this report they are continuing to do some phenomenal work at Richmond Elementary School again I want to remind me that Richmond Elementary will be our very first school to I'm work towards cognia stem accreditation to be recognized so we do want to come in the Stream and the leadership team as well as the staff and students are there who working very diligently to work weekly with I'm Stephanie gray as well as Mr love and I'm continuing professional development that's being provided on the behalf of improving stem just a brief update in regards to stem bus because of Amy Cole as well as we were looking for a bus to be here the end of October is so that we're going into November at this point I'm just with materials that are needed so we're still in production is actually looking great we had when we can certainly share the pictures in the final touches thing to a ribbon-cutting for the release of our bus are Simba's and I know that I miss Stephanie and mr. love have put together again some learning on Wheels schedules I'm all ready for our bus to be out of my commute and for the learning to continue for our children to be a part of that across our district so again I'm very unhappy about the work that's happening I'm in stem and we're still partner with stem you as well to make certain that we are exposing our young people very early online and not just in our high school years but certainly reaching them early on in their in their Elementary years in early learning years I mostly language Learners on we are very proud to know that our esol program for AOL on students are doing well we on serve are serving 209 student I'm at the res campus 286 at ATS 175 at the heart of their Richland Middle School and 199 at the ridge in Hardeeville high school campus so we are certainly growing in number we have certain increase the amount of staff members we have nine teachers who are truly focus and we will be grown resol Department as well as r e a high school ELA teachers who was truly working to ensure that we are meeting the needs and according on what is happening on with our young people that are coming to us and then the support without with our language to Sarah Dooley Marsden is also off and I'm moving quite well at the party campus I miss her going to give her Kudos and a shout-out also to Mr Jatt mr. Brian Jefferson for accepting the charge and being able to move very quickly I miss Miss Donna Thayer work very diligently it supposed to snow ski with that with the I'm doing more Shania program and I will tell you that I apparently want to give a shout out to our parents and students aren't children are taking part in that program they are doing a phenomenal job just some beautiful stories and working on their numbers and their alphabet and just having some conversation it's a beautiful beautiful sight to see and we are so elated to definitely on be able to begin this this this project process as well as continuing grow it throughout the years to come and so we're looking forward to a featured video for coming I'm being Astaire and in the teaching teen there at Hardeeville elementary school but again thanks to everyone who's making this up truly a success and we are very much so excited about the word that his is moving forward I'm as it should and I would be remiss not on sharing the work that is happening I'm in a high school campus and we're looking to trickle down that to our middle school middle school so we're in work with that we missed the Corey Burgess in regards to our Early College we are looking to do a great deal of work with Early College in the upcoming year so we are looking was he working with TCL very sensibly and we are very hopeful that will bring something some news back I'm very early on and I don't have you know I can't participate I think maybe last week or the week before last in the work that's happening and we have some students that we are I'm getting ready to host a ceremony for we will certainly invite the board and the parents of these students as we truly make it a big deal about how many we have truly embracing now the early college and dual dual enrollment it is it is phenomenal from the beginning to where we are and they are truly indebted and they are very excited for our Scholars on and it is truly a door that is opening for and the work that is moving forward with everyone working together truly makes this possible so we are very excited and listen to look forward to showcasing that for you in the very near future so be looking for that invite and I'm we would share more time to come very soon I'm sure that concludes my report thank you are there any questions of dr. Anderson Garden her report we're excited about the new great things happening in the district and Anderson's that update for down to imj 2021 delegate as our last meeting the South Carolina School Board Association will be having the delegate assembly and I believe that is December 4th and 5th that will be in Charleston South Carolina ask the last time that if anyone was interested in being the delegate that you send me an email I received one email from his Gerald Gerald will be the Delegate for the board and is there anyone interested in being the ultimate where is it going to be it's going to be held December 4th and 5th and Charles if no one else wants to go I'll go are you interested in being the alternate alternate Miss Jarrell is the delegate now we just need to Alton so you will be the alternate no I ain't going to be an alternate screen will be the ultimate is Gerald is the delegate Miss green will be the alternate and other members you have the right to if you'd like to you can also attend this conference it's not just for the delegate it is just that we have one vote and the official voting and delegate certificate is the board has one vote and that would be missed y'all would sit in the chair to cast her vote and if she's not able to do that in the screen will take place but it's definitely they will send us items that we want to to vote on it and we just have our delegate represent us that way so thank you both ladies for accepting that role let me know that was granted the opportunity to go to a couple years so I'll be more than willing to give somebody else that opportunity if they would like to go any others can attend it's just that the two of you would be the delegate and the alternate I have to send this in so we have until Monday November 15th to send this in so we want to go ahead and send this information in so miss jerrold and miss Grandma be out alternate and any board member has that right and if something happens I'm so we can explain why we had to change out alternate remember okay so I wear down to our monthly financial report of this is information on it was in your pocket so you should have perused that information and also board attendance item I was in the packet and if you have any concerns Corrections please contact this right and you know she will be able to have with that on your on your announcements following we know that on October 13th which is Wednesday I think we have our regional advocacy meeting and something and the 20th of the can is Risky Business Myrtle Beach again October 25th very important board work session with dr.
