greetings Jasper County School District family faculty and staff as well as our students and our parents and stakeholders I am here today just to share few announcements with you as we begin to prepare for the opening of school this year grow as a reminder Friday August 6th from 10 until 2 p.m. here in a hardeeville-ridgeland middle school campus in our gymnasium we will hold our vaccination back to school drive for all individual for students within our school district from 12 years and older we ask that you come out to receive the vaccination will have individuals on site as we partner with a hospital that is right here in Hardeeville to provide the vaccination those that needed that summation first tells we will schedule your second dose during the time of your first visit again we invite you to come out we have door prizes that we will make available to those that do participate and they are some wonderful door prizes so again because we are working to make sure that we're doing everything to again open school successfully and safely but to keep everyone as safe as possible and the one way to do that for those that can is to receive the vaccination wow it is being given to you so we look forward to seeing you here next week is Fleet Week we're bringing our students back in pre-k through 8th grade a week early we're doing that because we want to make sure that we had date of that we need we get the Reactor made it to school in the procedures and processes we provide them their individual device and we do some Getting to Know You activities as well as individual assessment and so next week August 9th do the 13th we will host again our Pre-K on a staggered schedule you'll be individually tested and then our students in kindergarten through eighth grade will attend Monday through Friday are teachers in our faculty and staff are ready to receive you and we are ready see your beautiful smiling faces we want you to again make sure that you have all the tools that you need so please make sure as you are coming to school you're prepared if you have any questions parents you reach out to us and we are willing to it's you and answer any questions that you may have we want to send a shout out in a thank you to the Morris Center in Richland and to the Agape Family Life Center and Dr Young for allowing us to featuring you facilities in your facilities on this last two evenings thank you for allowing us to to share our Jasper Chronicles with you and update and I want to thank the community for those that were able to attend and those that tuned in via Facebook live thank you finally on last evening during our Facebook live broadcast we realize that the sound became an issue towards the end of that broadcast and there were a couple of announcements and statements that I made that I want to again follow up with soul again you understand what those important points were because I realize that you could not hear Transportation there was a question in regarding transportation for next week and so what we've done is we've reopened the application the form online for you to complete if you require transportation to and from school please make sure that you go in online and complete the application or the form the transportation form that is available there for you and we will ensure your child or children certainly added to the transportation list and the first two weeks of school we know that Transportation will be a a little hectic for several reasons for why the traffic pattern has to again get acclimated to all of the cars that will now be on the road that hadn't been during the summer we also be learning new stops and stops and picking up students that may have started on one day then maybe on the second day for the first time we will be again making sure that students are at the right address and that we actually have the right address before we drop students off this week to make sure that what we do have in our system we're ready to move on but also please keep in mind that we need you to be patient we're not going to leave students at the door by themselves if no one is home we will make sure that our students are safe we will also ensure that we again know where our kids are I remind that we now have an app to connect to on our school buses so that we know where our students are we know where our buses are and we employ you to make sure that the app is available on your phone so that you know when the bus is expected to arrive in the morning and when the bus is expected to arrive in the evening so please make sure that if you need help with that color bus office and speak to miss Roslyn Fulton and she certainly will be able to assist you with that we are currently working on route for the upcoming weak and we have a draft of those are out available those routes will be posted no later than the end of this week and if you have questions you don't know which route your child me ride again please be patient with us give us a call and we will certainly help you through this process but we ask for your flexibility we ask for your patience Parent Portal Parent Portal is very important we know that this is a way for you to track what your children are doing this is a way for us to communicate between home and school you know if you need help with Parent Portal we are here to assist you and we will use that again to continue communication the proper way as we work towards again building communication and effectively communicating as we should find registration I want to clear up to some misunderstandings about online registration online registration is required for all students all students if you are returning student we need you to go in this computer update your information Mission if it needs to be updated if it doesn't need to be updated then you're confirming what there but we do need from every returning student is a proof of residence we need to know that the address that we have in the computer is in dizzy and dress in which you live and we need a physical address so please make sure that you provide a copy with that information and we will be asking for a copy if we have not received it so you can take a picture and send it in to us or you can bring it by school during open house and we'll take a copy of that but we need a valid proof of residence a utility bill that speaks to the address and that we know that that is a valid location and that you are zoned for our district for new students you would need to go in the computer and complete the entire process and we will also need to make sure that we have all needed documentation that's required for registration for returning and New Student we need to make sure that Innovations are updated so please make sure if you have not updated your child immunization said you going through the process of getting that done because the first 30 days of school the first 45 days of school will be notifying those individuals who are not fully can't immunize as they should as required by state law transitioning students we realize that we have been out of school almost a year-and-a-half and we realize that many of our students were out of the routine okay I said this one last and I will repeat it with again sincerity and an almost Spirit but our teachers and our staff are here and ready to welcome our students back we want them back in our facility and we want them to be safe we're ready to teach them and we're ready to learn together and grow but what I need from every parent every guardian and every individual with a child that will attend our school district please make sure that you speak to your child about number one the importance of school but number two please make sure that they understand what appropriate behaviors are please make sure they understand what appropriate behaviors are teachers are here to teach and we want them to take every minute every and every hour teaching teaching the content to ensure that what our students are getting their able to grasp that and master that content therefore it is not any room for misbehaving and that is not what we paid teachers to do we again will hold our students accountable for making sure that they're great students who will hold our teachers accountable for making sure that we are providing teaching and learning as we should but we will also help parents account for making sure that students are coming to school ready and that they are coming to school again behaving and they are coming to school ready to learn and that we are being respectful for into each other again I appreciate you we appreciate you and we are here to support you 100% please know that if you need anything or you have any
