Bellamy proud principal of Hardeeville Ridgeland middle school and this month Mark Spotlight is Miss not reading tutors asked Carissa silet ater Hardeeville Ridgeland Middle School is Austin has taken on several new role this year are additional rolls on his also serving right now as our parent liaison or role that she formally I had showing that we are building formidable relationships with our parents and we are reaching out to them each month also working in her or ask her if facilitator and on our connect and supporting I'm as an overflow class for teachers who are not here are teachers who have more than a maximum capacity of students in the building she is always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty every afternoon you can her and a car rider line at she has so graciously took the lead in that on the effort for high school for the last two years of the work that messed Austin done I can never ever ever be appreciated enough and we are just so grateful for her willingness and her continued commitment not just to Hardeeville Ridgeland middle school with to our students and do I staff so this the recognized mr. Rita Austin has our March Spotlight green enzyme Sean Shelton director of Technology at Jasper County School District the month of March I'm happy to recognize Sean stanzione technician that Hardeeville campus or employee Spotlight paid his tremendous effort and time that he's put in since joining the team since joining the Jasper County team we have been impressed by his great enthusiasm to learn and grow professionally Shawn is a hard worker that goes above and beyond to ensure that his campus is ready for whatever comes at day he has become an integral member of the technology team I look forward to seeing his continued growth and teachers that says Mr stanziola we thank you for all you do to push Jasper County forward with the office of student services and this moqui on spotlighting Dr LR Dinkins Dr Daniels has done an outstanding job working with our students who have had attendance issues and have a truancy Rogue is done home visit channel it's on business everyday he's going out on searching for our students and reaching out to the community to make sure that I have things are being provided the absolute best education possible and that they are present and accounted for dr. Dinkins thank you for all that you do for our students flower decal on I am the director of dining services for Jasper school district and for the month of March I would like to nominate Avella Robert hazard shining star she's an amazing person she's always on time a friendly kind beautiful smile always all these kind you know it is she she she's got a heart of gold is very diligent in the work she does she shows up to work on time every day that she can you know she she has to take care of her mother's from what I understand so she does Miss once in awhile for that but overall she's always at work whenever we're having to shut down the school for some form of shelter she helps out every single time she's there early she stays later she needs to she helps out with it taking everything in the kitchen and like I said just a golden a golden heart and always helping thank you Mandela greetings Jasper County School District family how did Green principle of Ridgeland Elementary School this month we would like to shine the light on Sarah Saltzman mr. Saltzman is our lead sol teacher doesn't exceptional job of assisting hours understanding information in English and in Spanish she does a great job of monitoring the imagine learning program she also goes to the classrooms and she does pull out with students that need additional instaport she's always coming down to the main office to assist our parents who need someone to translate again the Saltzman is an all-around all starch and you want to shine a light on her this month greeting I am dr. Martin Westbrook principal of ridgeland-hardeeville high school I am here to introduce to you our March spotlights after the month list Nicole Parker Easter's as our English teacher she's an international teacher person she is one of the top teachers in the district I will say to you with an ridgeland-hardeeville high school I first year of administration that end-of-course assessment for English out of four the state-level she made Eliza 8585 to 95% rate which is phenomenal she has a firm and direct way a workable. Anderson and to all the members of our instructional team I'm going to put my presentation up somebody put this up but if you will give me control vacs like the instructional Services presentation up canister Shelton currently has the your presentation and posted when he's worth giving you control now yeah I'm about to put it up now can y'all see that again I'm so excited to present our update and a new initiatives to you for those who I made out of formula Matt yet I'm about to say I'm going to Junior Deputy superintendent of administration and instruction and we do have our entire instructional team on with on tonight so if you have any questions after the presentation I'm going to turn to those persons for those questions model X so far they've done all of the great work in this the parts that I did myself but we wanted to be able to present as a team tonight course are Jennifer tonight and I will not first let me first say I will not dear try to read each one of these slides to you how to insult your intelligence but I will try to get the gist of each one done so that you are fully aware of where we are for the most part our agenda is is we going to deal first without current updates which oral after school and summer school programs are academic intervention programs are special education update and hourly programs update and then we'll talk about new initiatives you have a new PT initiative through the International Center of leadership in education we have a multilingual initiatives which is formerly known as esol or English as a second language initiative will also talk a little bit about Alberto Academy initiative and I'll do a credit or early college initiative cuz I have to go program they began back on March 1st we are serving students in grades 1 through 11 is program of course is Monday through Thursday 2 hours a day and of course through this receive homework support instructional programs in reading math science and our intervention programs as well as well as COC support through those particular areas these programs will run through until the end of the year June 30th our summer school programs will be pre-k through 11th how to be a rising seniors and do those programs will run from June 9th through July 1st all program will be held this year at the Ridgeland campus meals and transportation request so that we succeed part of the ocean of course our summer plans are due to me or fish fillet by April 23rd academic intervention update we have several intervention games that we've added a few years ago and that are now fully running in our district we have for a gifted and talented and 6 to 12 grade students our chief 3000 which is Ela base we have Alex which is for grades 3 through 5 6 through 8 and 4 Algebra 1 2 and geometry Imagine Learning is what we brought in this year to help support great skating five and predominately are esol students we also have I ready reading that supports reading of iCare 2 and 1 students in grades K-5 and 6 through 12 as well as I read it which is K2 initiative awesome professional learning and monthly data chats that occur again I want to read all this for you but each one of these areas are our work going to literally every single day we require a certain amount of time and even a certain amount of accuracy for each one of those areas and I won't read them all but I will look at Alex and Alex lets us know that students are to do for 30 minute sessions every single Suite which is about 2 hours per week they give us lots of reports and we take those reports and we provide data on to our schools and and they can use that data as it relates to tearing our students and providing alternative construction and saw our editors have also received a great information and training in these areas and again I want to read all of these for you but we do things for Achieve3000 imagine I ready we have about the same amount of minutes in each one of those areas and that is again to help support instruction and happens every single day with our wonderful staff here of course we also have a summer reading Camp which is required by state of South Carolina and that will be a part of our summer programs at as you seen before there's a prion opposed to that students also have to be invited to this because a certain academic challenges that they made meat and so we also employ our framework and we have coarse focus on lots of individual student conferencing special update as of October 2020 child count we we had around 251 student and there you can see the amount of students that receive academic support each of the different schools as well speech services there's some upcoming fessel development that our director has planned is CPI Crisis Prevention that will help with the escalation and then there will be other developments such as corrective reading connecting bath and Reading Mass when I know she also is planning to have some Kagan training done with those horses the different we're proud to say that we have some sensory rooms we have three sensory rooms that are available for students who need time to decompress and of course I just appreciate therapist conduct train ancestry needs and how to address those needs and those rooms are available at h e s r e s & R Middle School Early Childhood Program update we have of course our pre-k program and we have a 20 21 22 registration plan where course parents would enforce forms and they have to bring in to require forms of documentation that they are Friday appointments and that they will be students will be tested paperwork given by the SS and also copies of required other documents completed during that time and this is just a physical representation of what I just mentioned which is the interest form schedule X rating of paperwork and then they're finally accept opportunity on summer camp is one of those things that we actually apply for through the start-up office at state department and we will be hosting that this year during our regular summer program so I creep will be able to come in for summer support will have space for 40 students 24 each school and of course that will be housed at we're all so proud to talk about countdown to kindergarten which is an initiative and a partnership with front steps and it is a transition program to prepare are at-risk children for kindergarten and with their last home visitations are done and each summer new students are recruited Tremaine and and they were send and receive a small stipend for the time and travel and so just in 2019 more than 200 teachers faded in this program and so we will continue to work with first steps to partner to identify and recruit countdown teachers and those teachers will like I said earlier conduct home visits and how sign children to their classrooms in August and as this why I continue to talk about basically the process and it is sure that classrooms are prepared for visits by parents course children and it is an appropriate way to share countdown program with the media and so we have also options that are virtual so teacher don't have to just physically go make and do virtual home visits and of course this is all to increase stamina awareness to ensure a smooth transition to school and to create a positive environment no talk a little bit about our new initiatives that we're pushing forward with and beginning for the immediate we're really excited about bringing on the International Center for leadership in education and if you're not familiar with that name maybe you word of the model schools conference that show yearly in Tennessee and this is the organization that that holds that conference and Anderson has so graciously spoken into our future. County will be presenting at model schools in a year and so we're excited about that and we want to talk to you a little bit about the three cord prongs that are coming out of this professional development initiative the first one will begin here in the next few where we will have a less than design my process and what what this is board members and in all who are listening to us today this is a process by which we are creating a curriculum that is a turn ritual that will have not only lesson plans and PowerPoints will have resources and assessments for every single lesson indicator that is taught and so are our teachers will be part of that effort along with District administration and school administrators and that will be led by the Consultants from the International Center for leadership in education the next part of the second part of that prom three-prong approach is for administrative develop and the development and supervision and implementation of instructional rigor I think I should do a great job of following the framework everywhere you go in Jasper they're falling the same way but we got to ensure that the river is there and that's what's going to get our school districts to that excellent rating and become a model for school districts that have transition and transform their teachers staff and community and then the last part of that problem and all these are happening within a certain frame the lessons I will start immediately the administrators will also start within the next month and Chica development will begin starting this summer and of course that's important to them will be on a strut River lesson design and of course being able to unwrap standards and indicators and again this slide basically let you know that deep Wendy's phases are beginning please mute your phone okay sure for 1 minute for me doctor wack your music dr. Watkins music sorry about that I had to route to come back and then again I'm still see my screen you apologize about that caught up here and so the hear the timelines for when we plan to get most of this PD started at to begin in March of 2021 with our administrators and I'll listen to buying and again like I said earlier Phase 2 with our teachers will begin in July powermonkey lingual learner initiatives MLL which is going to be the new acronym that you'll see you'll see that more so than esol but that is the new term that that it department is using an part of this is where excited to presenting you are a newcomer Academy which is an academy for students in grade 6 through 12 and this we'll be targeting those students who have been in the United States for no more than a year and those students sometimes when they come in they need that support to get them started and immersed into the culture here original in Hardeeville and then the second part of that is the language immersion program which we are planning to start in the fall which is a blended English speakers with Spanish pause program for students that are enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade and so the latest grade students can apply will be grade 1 and it will be a first come first serve basis the newcomer Academy will be taught by a core content teachers alongside bilingual teachers that are certified to teach foreign languages and of course there are the exit criteria will be the Wida assessment cut for an after that will be the day after the newcomer Academy students will receive bsol support through the general education classes in this is previous wheel model as a relates to a language immersion program students will be taught by Elementary certified Personnel for 50% of the day and then they will be taught by bilingual Elementary certified personnel. students cannot remain in a role in these programs every year or exit to a traditional classroom and of course the implementation will begin the implementation year will begin in kindergarten only and that's so that we can begin to build those cohorts of students that will move up and the ultimate goal is that these students will become bilingual some of the sample newcomer Academy courses a 4-star English for speakers of other languages middle and high school math pre-algebra and algebra and geometry are environmental science physical science and biology courses United States to American government and social studies are again at merging program is a 5050 prong approach and what happens here is all yellow thought in the English language but math science and social studies actually taught in the Spanish language and so our district 1 shoes supplement materials that will support the curriculum in Spanish in order Denny's text books that are available in Spanish Spanish teachers will teach the state standards just like any and all of the teachers in the building and of course he was the timeline for the newcomer Academy and again I won't read all that but we are planning to start pretty immediately to get all of these things that up we actually have a visit to Florence school district one on think it's March 23rd four of the immersion program so we're really excited about bringing these two programs to support our students and our community of course our next initiative is our Jasper County virtual Scholars Academy and although we do have a virtual option now for students this Academy will align with the state expectations for the Academy which are different from what we've allowed weave app allow people to be in it for this current year but in the year to come there are some expectations at the state that sell for it and that I just because also planned for some of the benefits mr. Baines who is over this evening he talked about the benefits of remediation which is building skills and knowledge base to improve student performance also individual high-quality instruction which is expected every single day virtual program to complete the coursework early they can move on to enrichment and even new coursework the framework basically is that the program operate in a blended approach which is synchronous instruction which is simply a live teacher as well as a surface which is digital based curriculum that may not have a live instructor along with it and we also believe using me method is a multi-faceted approach that will provide both structure and the freedom to learn for our students also when engaged in a simple learning students will be able to move to the Core contact at their own pace and more independently and we do have a new Porsche we're coming on Edgenuity and we've also been currently using a seller and of course pre-recorded lessons on Microsoft teams and Russian post here is just a comparison that I thought was really well done by Mustang to show the vision of regular in-person destruction versus the new virtual and so we have hung should be flip-flop the in person inspection will be K12 Virtual Academy will actually be through 12 and in other than that though you can see the comparison and contrast between those two are areas and there will be a farm farm watch on student attendance if students are not attending they will he asked to come back to the in-person program which is what this next slide kind of talk a little bit about I talked about criteria for enrollment for the date of birth proof of birth certificate all that stuff for residency and withdrawal information if they're coming from from another stool also we will have to ensure that students are maintaining at least a c or higher Aboriginal classes this is a sure that we don't have the learning a little issues that the state has talked so much about and of course I was Almost Famous a few moments ago they must satisfy attend through the course we're as well as follow discipline and behavioral expectations in the following should talk about before we take questions from you on tonight is I dual enrollment early college program mr. Burgess has done an amazing job with working with Technical College of the Lowcountry as well as University of South Carolina at Beaufort to really get this up and going we do who are you who are doing dual-credit now so this is not brand new to Jasper what what is new is giving information about how these things are funded at the end in and of course all the different aspects that students can achieve and not just do the six hours that's for career-ready but that it goes much further in I'll be on that of course I talk to you about what you doing Rome it is and its programming with how do students obtain dual credit courses in high school unit and credit for credit and call it pregnant and can be taken at high school where the student is roll or at full secondary and why is it important again it really under do students to the rigors of college coursework and it it really can help support students and parents who want to go to want to obtain a post-high school education while in high school and so it's a it's an exceptional opportunity for students you tell that the three core goals for our students and one is to be College ready not simply to take 6 credit hours with a C or higher and then the next accident that we are hoping to add to this is course students getting a college certificate which is 18229 credit hours it can be in any of the areas that you see here from basic heart to Liberal Arts to some core areas in math and English as well as career Urology offerings and then the third third part of that would be earning an associate's degree so that would be students walking out of ridgeland-hardeeville high school as a junior for whatever College they going to most of these courses that students tape are acceptable by most colleges not only South Carolina but across the country and their you see the two degrees that students could earn which would be an Associates in art and associates in science and there you see the program requirements for students we need English 1 2 and 3 alpha 1 and 2 and geometry and they must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater and they can get qualifying college entrance assessment forms through accuplacer or act and sat through guidance don't have a guidance recommendation along with the principal recommendation I-40 PE programs the requirement is a 2.75 or greater and also in terms of how these programs are delivered these delivery format include face to face at the high school campus we have some teachers that are qualified to teach some of those courses along with face-to-face at USC Dior TCL campuses and then the third option is they'll be able to do some of these courses online virtual with both uscb and TCL this is the part that I really want to want to really tiny in on because we have this wonderful opportunity that's been around a while but what our students may not be aware of and parents may not be aware of is that these their ability to take these courses would be absolutely at no cost to them and so you can see here that students must take at least two courses to qualify for the lottery rate and lot of this let me back up a little bit through TCL primarily funding comes from SC Lottery tuition program SC wins and from our school district so in some of those budget some of those special Revenue budget we have dedicated funds there to help offset the cost of whatever the law story on SC wins will not cover so students can literally get an associates degree at no cost and we are really really pushing this and all the things I know that mr. Burgess has been doing is looking at starting and pushing students starting at grade 7 and grey 10 we need to push our students we need the 4th we are raising the bar raising my expectations and so we're very excited about our dual enrollment and early college push that that that mean that we have to do this now that are in dual-credit but I'm going to lift those numbers 23050 to 60 students on average we're pushing through those programs to obligate College certifications certificate and or an associate's degree so we're really excited about that and I want you to take this opportunity to say all of the members of our team for all the work they did for this presentation I did time move to that pretty swiftly but I did not want to take up the predominance of time and so we will take this opportunity to open it up for questions if you like thank you. Dulac excellent presentation as well as it was a very thorough almost to the point where there were no areas that I have a asking about but I didn't have one and I open it up to the other members of the board regarding the Pre-K kindergarten I need particular on a number that we would be pre-register the Pre-K enrollment for the fall did the we have a hand in particular amount of students that would be qualified to to go into those classes I know that we mean I have three classes three classrooms at once to so how is that kind of working for the parents directly thank you. Barf coming in good evening Hardeeville Elementary School we have three good for start at classroom and those classrooms the max capacity for their are 20 students per classroom classroom and again the capacity for those classrooms will be 20 after we get 20 stew on our wedding list between 10 and 20 students unless we can apply to the state to open an additional 4K classroom if needed Audubon so we're talking 80 students in Paris still in 60 in Richmond any questions of anyone else that was that was my one thing every screen yes. The way a great presentation one question I noticed that the students will attend CCL Goldsmith will be coming from the lottery where will the funds be coming for the students that attend USC be at what budget is that coming out of we have again funds through right now we use title for funds and we literally pay for those students that would need that support through USB play when I first came in we even had funding to provide transportation for them so that was a big initiative about the Andersons from from really our initial move in here to Jasper and we've been find a perfected as much as possible to the problem with uscb I did on offer the same amount of support forms of course the TCL does so we have to supplement that so if they have to take used courses then we would we would basically pay it for him okay thank you I'm sorry I missed that part question I have a question I have a few actually with the virtual learning thank you for the presentation as well with the virtual learning I noticed on the presentation it stated that parents would be held responsible for the devices will there be a scholarship program for parents who are unable to afford those devices for their children to be able to participate in the virtual learning well we we have this I've been discussing that with Mr Shelton and we can have an option there that where they could at least it and we need to be honest with you we've decided to be able to have Johnson available but it's not going to be that same technology calls that I regular students have because this is an option that parents are choosing to do this past year it really just became vital that we do it and I will say this and I'm sure don't answer that mind me saying a virtual learning is not really knew what we were about to do we were planning this prior to the to the pandemic and it just so happens if pendemic happened and so our plan was 4/3 through 12 in the lot that was based off of some import we got from Chatham County schools which they do it pretty well over there and of course apartment was parents being responsible for devices but I can tell you that mr. Shelton I have discussed that and so it's just going to be about the Perfection of that because of course if a parent can't do it and it's a financial issue that we want to be able to support them as best we can example now we have some students who couldn't afford the $35 but they do fall under some title for title funding so what we have done current new title V plan is we're paying for for 200 students to get the new device with the $35 fee and that's because of two reasons one your finances shouldn't exclude you from from quality and so we decided with. Anderson's approval to be able to do that for this year and will hopefully be able to offer that in years, but with the virtual program cause of state has put on the expectations there for us we can we can definitely look to try to have that there for me it's just going to be a matter of funding and having the right amount of funding that will allow you to do that and so we feel like that's possible but I can't sit here and tell you miss tumor that we are at 100% that that's going to happen all right thank you the other question I had with it being self-paced virtual learning program I know right now science and social studies just taught through a celis so will and actual teacher be teaching science and social studies because our students are tested every year on those two subjects as well with this year being science next year being social studies well fourth and sixth grade are your Science grades grades that are being tested if you know with chest music resume that we assume is those are the two grade levels that are no students should be receiving synchronous construction because again although they do we do some supplement with a salad at all grade levels are at least all of the elementary grade levels predominately but yeah they're going to get Construction in any Chester area they will get synchronous Construction alright thank you you're welcome anyone else yes this is mister moyd yes this is a good question that miss too much  cuz it's his Segway into what I'm trying to find out excuse me we'll talk about dual enrollment I'm talking with academics what happen if we have six and seventh and eighth graders who can handle these college courses are we prepared to move them to the next level or what are the plans to do pallet and get the kids who can handle college and in Middle School well I'm going to let mr. Burgess, try me in the only because I know that the local colleges have standard of what level certain students can come in on on K and although one of the things we would be doing at the middle middle school would be predominantly those students would be pushed into your algebra 1 your English on your geometry that's where they will be getting that that's why we say seventh grade because we could literally begin students at the 7th grade level taking Algebra 1 and that really goes in concert if your free with sreb or making Middle grades work making high school or high schools that work it really goes in concert with their belief which is raising the expectations for students and literally that's what that's what that this initiative is about it really is about raising X I've been here now going on 3 years and I have met some of the best and brightest students that I've I've ever met I work in the school districts that have had 25 thousand students in and now I want it be size and I guarantee you that the quality is here in Jasper County when we raise expectations students are going to meet it if it does not an expectation that they can't meet and so this is why we have to push particularly at the middle school level we need to push our students to be taken out of the one in and and an English one and so that when they get to the high school they can transition into these college-level courses. Mr. Burgess probably can help me out because you know more about this but I'm just kind of chiming in on the information you've given me with no sir Mister Moore & the boar get even first of all that question will to further answer that question is tomorrow in all actuality of the court has been the hardest thing for the first thing to do is identify the record of students that you were talking about and to do that you won't be able to be identified in the Middle School you talkin about going our way back you talk about third grade second grade start identifying these students actually increasing those expectations and the regular to an orange prepared at 2 for student start taking college courses in the seventh grade but prayerfully you know if it's the direction go that way then fine but in all right now you still talkin about those skills out that they're going to have to still meet the requirements via SC ready I English and math on their own their own grade level before they can even get to the college in the same thing with the Middle School however to do that Cassidy that restarting elementary schools pattonsburg don't care I just want a piggyback on that statement about sixth excetera are data right now based on what we had the last time we got data on our student performance it does not indicate that we have a Cadre of students were ready for that level of rigor Instagram Jasper County so that's that definitely we would have to build it from third grade up in order to establish the platform for them to do the work my other daughter statements a question doctor wack I have not checked the accountability manual lately safer I'm asking this question the minute we start to offer High School classes to middle school students if those High School is it going to impact the high school report card then we are creating avoid for instance if your students in middle school take Algebra 1 answer your top kids in the middle school I take an algebra 1 and they're passing Algebra 1 in the Middle School it does not credit High School in any way shape or form unless you can do with Emmanuel has changed and I I have not looked at it lately so what happens when those students end up in 9th grade in the high school the only students in the high school will be taken out of one will no longer be in your ninth grade academy Gabby the top-level 9th grade students so mr. Burgess how does that affect the high school in terms of their accountability rating is working for doing all we can with her top students in the Middle School what happens to the high school because in the past negated the high school and ruined their report card writing because it doesn't help then when they're all taken in the Middle School yes ma'am is your last a good question and answer that question the high school in high school report card is based on their own and 9 gr number that 9 gr is it is an identifying number that's assigned to ever do it at once they it's the first time Canada 9th grade so in all actuality in the high school report card is longitude and other words these all their school all the scores fall of the students according to their 9gr up until graduation so it does not affect Undisputed attaining high school credits at the middle school does not hurt the high school at all because these two package in the car into a nice car from the time they actually are being measured from the time they actually 14 High School for the first time so there is no negative impact whatsoever on the highway car used to Mega McQueen bicycle death student performance just follow something that makes it a whole lot clearer yeah. The black when you talk about these students are there a cut off amount of students or do you have a certain amount of students that would be enrolled and the technical college all uscb no ma'am is not really a cut off what we what we try to do particularly since I've got into using federal funds we try to over for Jet and so example if we we are going I would say and I'm going to speak to Cory speak for itself our goal would be if we could you know initially can get about 30 students in a cohort started moving in that direction and then what we would plan for in our funding we would we would plan B on that so I thought I would probably plan for about 45 to 50 and that's so that we can allow for students that we probably didn't expect and so we want to make sure that we have known that one of the things we can do as time progresses itself as where I live what I go and we can get them up at 6290 students will be tremendous School District that we we contacted literally they had cohorts of 6290 children and you know we we felt like it was a very similar demographic very similar to our school district in size and so we felt like that was a great model for us and so from a funding aspect we will we will do our best to have the funds there for students thank you because I started wouldn't want us to do to be left behind you know okay thank you right now we've got more money then students in the program with dakak lot more good question another question I have is what is the percentage what is the population of students at the high school and what is the Savage we trying to put jack what's that what's that number I mean 5% of the student body who all are capable of attending the program 10% 15% I know you can give us a number but do you I have a Target that you working on or you want to answer that or you want me to yes sir mr. more I didn't hit that the idea right now and what we're doing with it will actually I want to use a something that turn the doctor white uses all the time we're riding a bike and putting together at the same time what happens right now we're actually catching up probably trying to identify those students currently in the 11th grade and in 10th Grade right now if you start 10th graders at some of the 10th graders that currently took algebra and English one in the ninth grade I mean excuse and 8th grade they actually have and we've identified some students that actually have the potential to actually obtain an associate's degree prior to getting out of jail actually apply to graduate it all depends on how hard they want to work but this is small call her when I say small I'm talkin to probably right now 15 student at Max however if you start the program when you build that capacity then that cool heart is going to grow is going to get logo going to go to grow larger but to get the numbers that we want to get it's the work starts at the elementary 6th grade then 7th grade and if you know an overdose. those numbers go do the  size will grow and if I can try me in this lesson design and this work that we're doing with teachers feeds right into this we went when Donna Anderson presented the consult one of the things we talked about they had a great plan but we told them we needed instructional rigor to improve we need our students to be able to compete with any students across the state of South Carolina and as I have said I have met students from all across this state and Jasper County has the qualities we have to raise the instructional rigor what we are presenting the students in that class from every day starting from pre-k through and I think that piece along with all that mr. Burgess is talked about particularly in an identification of students that starts at 3 and second grade they're tested in second grade they're gifted and talented there and then they move into the GT program you know we got something with GT with we're planning as well because we want to make sure we optimize are GT students that they are prepared when they get to the middle school for your elder brother and your English into the high school when they were to those college courses no other questions well thank you very much doctor wagon mr. Burgess India presentation is excellent as far as also the criteria if you go back and we really see that you have put a lot of those bulletins in there for us to see what it would take for our students to be enrolled in a school enrollment cramps so Kudos again we're excited about all of the new things coming for our Scholars here in Jasper and let me just say we want thank God I understand for her you know Direction and of course for you all for supporting us in the work that we do and I got to give a shout out to our team who presented and and and did all the work in that presentation I'm just a mouthpiece not again thank you all for what you do for to allow us to do what we do for you guys thank you we are now at our superintendent greetings to each of you continue on the lines of our Mantra in our district is remaining student-centered future-focused and I want to certainly give kudos to are instructional team I'm just typing to the Board of Trustees brief that you have I'm not going to read any of that to you I will certainly entertaining any questions that you may have a much of that information is along the lines of what you just hurting precent from Doctor wagon the instructional team and I I want to issue a challenge to listen to the question that I think they were great questions and a lot of work has been continuing shoe bald and move forward to make sure that we are providing all of the necessary tools that are Scholars need in Jasper County School District by far but we are on and on about the business of making sure that every child meets their individual life expectation so that they can Excel and you there God give talent and abilities and we want them to be able to not only compete locally but Statewide and nationally and internationally and so the work begin again not again at Evanston Echo. High School level the Middle School level but it must begin in Early Learning grade and in continue on and so my challenge to to each of us are are are instructional team District team understand where we're going and we're heading I'm in that direction but I do challenge each of us on this call tonight to reach out to our constituent in to share the information for those individuals that may not have access to technology or may not be able to utilize technology or may not even have a log into the meeting reach out to them and certainly reach out to our constituents and encourage them number one first of all again if you need help that is where we're here for and we are not always going to say yes we can provide the following you because sometimes we cannot but we certainly will do our diligent to make sure that weed within reason I'm in within our galuppi's excetera the funding that we do have set aside what we need for children for children because that is what we're here for and so it doesn't do us any good to have all of this money sitting aside that we do and habit designated for our young people but because of the either don't understand or I just don't feel that I want to go down that that path or I'm not going to college or I'm going to change my mind later begin to challenge our constituents again to take part number one in building what we believe would be the best opportunity for all of our students here in Jasper County Daddy has to gain equality education everything that our students need we have and if we don't have it we're trying to figure out how to get it and so I'm ever ever challenge myself and to our team to make sure that we don't stop just because we reach one Mart we want to keep going farther and so we realize that we have to look at others to make a spell eating better and so we don't for anything less than greatness and so therefore that comes a challenge and it's going to be work and it's going to get uncomfortable because we can no longer do the same thing and expect something different but we have to do something different to expect a different outcome and that's what you see happening the rigor has yet improved but we also have to begin setting up a foundation that we not only are in tune to making sure our kids graduate but that our kids are graduating with tools in their toolbox that chick them beyond what we could ever imagine even at a point in our lives and so I don't believe never stop growing out believe we will ever reach a plateau that we just say that we've arrived but I do believe that the calling that we have for Jasper County School District employee number one for our student number two for the administration number three in Jasper County is to make sure that every Avenue every Avenue that we can open and every door that we can leave our young people through for the outcome of success if what we've been called to do and we should not stop until we reach that we should not stop until we reach that and we're not there so I challenge each of us on this call again on the prowl again who does the count because we are putting into work and we want those individuals to not only be in seat than being classroom but to take advantage of an opportunity that many of us did not have but they had and so I again and I'm appreciative of all of the work that has gone for but I but I but I but I don't apologize for the passion that comes forth because I understand that it takes a village and it even now takes more than a village to raise our young people because they have so much that they're dealing with so we have to get out of the box so what used to be and to the innovativeness of what we can have and so it's a challenge and I'm challenging you to challenge me so you can get a couple people please call them and say I want to go over this with you and if you do you can explain it correctly give us a call because we want every child to take advantage every child to take advantage and I don't care what the greater the score was on a test because I am more than a test score but I do care but if they have the guts and the willpower and the desire to go farther then by golly will get him there and that's all we need is cold Brit and that's all we need and so I am ever moved I want to thank again the instructional department for a job well done for accepting the challenge for one I know I've been pushing and we'll keep pushing and and and we are going to again we are McDonald's ice and something at the very beginning of this this conversation that we have already said that we was we were actually present at the model schools conference we will either called up being the representative you may not know Jasper but you will know Jack because we will be there and so I will accept nothing less from that because what we're doing right now we are building our own documentary and we will prevent that documentary actually for mr. Washington has already started from the at the beginning of this stage of just meeting and having dialogue and will begin presenting this information could we want you to see the work that is going into the outcome of what we know will be greatness for our young people and so it's I'm about to shoot you no frills and thrills that people have it is about rolling up our sleeves and making sure that I young people can stand up with their chest out and say I am a product of Jasper County used to be more than to 10 kids it needs to be more than 25 kids on 27th and that is our goal that is our goal and we won't stop until we get there and so I asked you to join Challenge and let's get the word out there because of word of mouth is what shingles outcomes but the right word of mouth is what we need so I appreciate each of you I will entertain any questions that you have in regards to the Board of Trustees the breeze I am done with any comments that I have let him chair I see your hand this morning just just what one question very good report. Just one I I saw where we having a summer camp will we be able to accommodate any students and every student who wants to attend or do we have a limited as usual dr. 2 start app which is the Pre-K and also the third grade sign of it this this sick the read to succeed side because of the ex because of what the expectations aren't particularly like the you succeed but really the plan is whatever the principal set for for us and in and then we have to make sure that we have the actual physical Manpower cuz this will be a face-to-face summer school program you know we love to optimize have admitted students that want to call him you know we won't turn students away even if we got to look at some virtual things and support that we have those thing we we can support students all summer long with just our intervention program but for them to physically, you know it is just going to be contingent on those who sign up to work and then the number of teachers that we have available Garden City yes ma'am if I make one comment to miss the morning and stuff like the program power is not on that program for moving for we have two pumps that are cheap and so it's about getting our students what they need to move forward and so again if you can get them to are we going to do what we can to make sure the Madam chair it's Rollin yes I just wanted to do and I'm just elated to hear about all these broken left on deposit to a student I do have one question about EMS program disenroll the song talking about the instructional 8th doctor yeah I wanted to go back to him I know where in the superintendent but I want to ask about the MS program so he he did not say that at 8:40 members will bring it at our next board meeting alright thank you I'm sorry I guess I might miss and came on I don't have a question any other question Herring run again to golf you know dr.
