Introduction
Schoology (pronounced: Skool’uh-jee) is our first ever learning management system in Tomball ISD which offers a platform for organization, collaboration, communication, discussion boards, multimedia lessons, as well as a place to submit assignments and allows for easy teacher feedback/grading. Schoology has a simplified navigation and a similar layout to social media. It is also iPad compatible and fully integrates with Google Apps for EducationStudents have been provided instructions on how to gain access to their Courses by logging into ClassLink, and will spend the first week of school learning how to navigate Schoology with teacher assistance.

1. Go to schoology.com
2. Hover over SIGN UP and click on Parent:

3. Type your 12-digit Schoology Access Code (format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) provided to you by you child's teacher. You may also find this Schoology Access Code through your Home Access Center account. You man copy it and then paste it in the Access Code box.
1. Enter your username or email address and password.
2. Click Log in
If you already have a parent account in Schoology for one child, you can add additional children to your account:
 
1. Log in to your Schoology account using your username or email address and password.
2. Click the arrow next to your name in the top-right corner.
3. Click the Add Child button.

4. Type your 12-digit Schoology Access Code (format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) provided to you by Tomball ISD via email. You may also find this Schoology Access Code through your Home Access Center account. You man copy it and then paste it in the Access Code box.

5. Click the Use Code button to complete.
Having a Parent account in Schoology is actually like having two accounts:
 
Account 1: Your personal account, with your own name and information;
Account 2: Your Child Activity view. From here, you can view Schoology from your child's perspective, and see what he or she sees, and receive updates about his or her activity.
 
1. Log in to your Schoology Account using your username or email address and password.
2. Click the arrow next to your name in the top-right corner.
3. Click on your child's name. This will allow you to view the platform from your child's perspective. The checkmark in this drop-down menu indicates which account you are currently viewing.
Navigate the parent portal

Student Activity View
1. The Student Activity area in the center of the page displays your child's recent submissions, grades, and updates.
2. Enrollments – to see a list of courses that your child is currently enrolled in, along with his or her grade.
3. The Upcoming section displays a list of your child's upcoming assignments and events.
4. Courses – You can see a list of your child's current courses. Click on a course name to navigate to the course to see the course as your child views it.
5. Groups – You can see a lift of your child's Schoology Groups.
6. Grades – You can see your child's grades.
7. Calendar – Click here to view a calendar of past and upcoming events and assignments.
Schoology sends you email notifications for Social, Academic, Group, and School activity that occurs in your account. These notifications pertain to the school, courses, and groups in which you are enrolled (not courses or groups in which your child is enrolled).
 
1. Log in to your Schoology account using your username or email address and password.
2. Click the arrow next to your name in the top-right corner. 
3. Click on Settings
4. Click the Notifications tab
5. Select On to accept notifications or Off to deny notifications
1. On your Schoology homepage, scroll all the way down and click on English.
2. Select your preferred language from the available list and click on Save to complete the process.

1. Download the Schoology mobile app from the Apple Store (iOS) or the Play Store (Android).
2. Open the app and select Continue to Schoology.

3. Enter your full email address and you password. *The app requires your full email address. Select Log in.

6. Select your student and navigate to courses.

Parents
Parents have received steps by email for setting up their own Parent account and how to link multiple children to that account for easy access to information. Parents will be able to view:
  • assignments
  • discussions
  • completed assessments
  • calendar updates
  • content that is shared by their child's teachers
