Grant Opportunity... Do you have any "Bright Ideas"
The Palmetto Electric Trust and Palmetto Electric Cooperative wants you to know about Bright Ideas, a grant program to provide funding for innovative classroom-based education projects. Since its inception in 2004, a total of 79 grants have been awarded in Hampton, Jasper, and southern Beaufort counties totaling more than $70,000.
Bright Ideas grants are intended to fund projects outside normal public school funding parameters and are available to all disciplines in grades K-12 in southern Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties. They are not for professional development nor are they to be used for field trips. A school may submit more than one application, but a teacher is limited to one application per school year.
The grant requests must be submitted by September 13 and the visit of the Prize Patrol is as exciting as Publishers Clearing House, just not quite as much money.
Palmetto Electric is expecting to deliver teacher information material to the school’s today so that you might have the summer to come up with that Bright Idea that will get you and your classroom a grant that might be up to $1000.
