REBECCA KING IS MISS JASPER COUNTY HIGH

Rebecca King was crowned Ms. Jasper County High 2006-2007 on Saturday, October 7, 2006, in a coronation ceremony at the high school. Rebecca is from Tillman and is currently in her senior year at JCHS.
Ms. King's talent portion of the pageant was singing “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again,” a song from the musical Phantom of the Opera. When asked, she said, “I was shocked at first. I was happy to win and felt that we were all qualified to win the title.”
During her reign as Ms. Jasper County High, Rebecca hopes to accomplish more unity within the student body. “I’ve shown respect and have received it as well,” King said.
Rebecca shared that by winning the title of Ms. JCHS, she feels that the school in concentrating more on academics. That is a sign of progress and a shining example of the school district’ “New Day… New Way philosophy.
Rebecca aspires to become an accountant in a private firm or the government, and one day, to own her own CPA firm. Rebecca expects to attend Erskine College. When asked if she had any advice for her peers, se said. “ Study hard and be all that you can be.”
Jemal Thomas was named Mr. Jasper County High School, Donetta White is Miss Jaguar and Lauren Jenkins was selected Miss Black and Red.

Jasper County School District is the home of almost 3,100 students from Pre-Kindergarten through the 12th grade.

Jeeves is just taking this opportunity to hang up his butler suit and retire, but he is taking a few days rest before he goes.
