The Public Information Department
The Public Information Department is the source of communications from the Jasper County School District. It was created to help schools and departments to publicize events, handle the different types of media situations, provide training and understanding of customer service, provide a liaison between the schools and the community, and to coordinate publications and internet information. The office will also be available to answer both employee and community questions regarding district issues.
This website has been honored by the South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association with its Reward for Excellence. The national association, NSPRA, has honored the Jasper County School District with its Golden Achievement Award for its exemplary public relations activity.

Robert J. Huff
Robert J. Huff, JCSD’s Public Information Officer, has considerable experience in the business, educational, journalistic and service fields. Prior to his six years of teaching in the school system, he had been both a sports and political reporter and subsequently an editor for several weekly papers and had written a column for a community edition of The Island Packet. His business experience was in management with a major oil and steel corporation, USX.
Huff holds a full professional teaching certificate from the South Carolina Department of Education and has met the state requirement for technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business, with a focus in the area of organizational management, and has a Master of Education degree in curriculum. These degrees provide awareness of both the academic aspect of the schools as well as the physical operation of the district, one of the county's major businesses. They will also prove quite helpful in meeting business and civic leaders locally and in communicating with major foundations throughout the nation.
Bob is a professional member of the National School Public Relations Association and its award winning South Carolina Chapter.
