School Testing
The Jasper County School District tests its student twice a year with a test that Measures Academic Progress (MAP). Measures of Academic Progress tests are state-aligned computerized adaptive assessments that provide accurate, useful information. The tests have proved to be predictors of the student’s potential growth within the year and gives indications of specific weaknesses that need to be addressed in the classroom.

The State Department of Education tests each student once a year and that score is utilized in the calculation of each school’s report card and determines its Annual Yearly Progess under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act.

JASPER HIGH STUDENTS TAKING EXIT EXAMS

Students at Jasper County High have been taking the High School Assessment Program (HSAP) test, otherwise known as the exit exams.
The High School Assessment Program meets federal and state requirements including the South Carolina Education Accountability Act (EAA) of 1998 and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLBA). According to the EAA, each public school student must pass an exit examination to receive a South Carolina high school diploma. HSAP testing is also used to measure students’ academic achievement on high school standards in accordance with the NCLBA.
