There are several capital projects in progress within the Jasper County School District. This video gives a quick update on the various projects.

good afternoon my name is John, Sion and I'm the director of operations in project management for SSC we've been working together with the Jasper County schools for the last six years on several capital projects in today I like talk to you about the most recent projects that we have ongoing Jake at modular classroom building the buildings have been set in place they've been connected we have Crews working to get the building ready for occupancy and include power water sewer fire alarm system also going to include the it wiring that we'll need for our computers and telephones her communication we've actually had our first inspection and things are moving right along the setup crew is almost finished with their peace and what's left is to all the interior work to get it ready for the students to use right now we're looking at a March timeline of being completed and ready to schedule art state inspection so we were able to get our occupancy permit the demolition project is well under way it's been going for the last 4 months and as you've seen the site has been cleared all the debris has been removed right now the only things that have left to be done or the items that have on our punch list at our civil engineer and I came up with yesterday when we did our final walk the site needs to be graded more professionally and smoother we need to do a better job at putting seed down for our grass to grow and the covering of the shod the fencing will be removed and we won't be able to use this area what's the students move in in the Grass Grows as a location for the students to have outside activities on which is the intent our goal is to be able to move into building and in the end of March April timeline the next project we talkin about is the Richmond athletic project that will include a baseball field and softball field in Clute tennis courts it'll also expand the golf program to improve safety features that we've added it also has a press box at concession stand as outside restroom buildings it has facilities for athletic supplies storage we're adding 120 parking spots we're going to be doing some asphalt work we have exterior lighting we have safety lighting that were adding we're also putting in traffic arms to actually controls the flow of traffic during important times of the day like dropping off students in the morning and picking up shoes did the end of the day so as well as we proceed with this project we have submitted the plans to the state and to the counting awaiting our permits once we receive the permits we were actually put together the RFP and we'll go out to bid gorgeous project to start construction one of the things that we've actually are working on his is this golf program and a golf program has a driving range the driving range is presently in an open field which means we can't have people out in the sea Inland golf balls are being hit so what we have done is we've hired a golf professional a design professional to design an enclosure so we can have 20 students in the time go inside this enclosed area and under the instructions of a coach work on their golf swings and their driving skills the intent of our focus with the golf program is to improve safety the driving cat each will add that to where we can have people out in the athletic areas and there will be no risk that anyone would get hurt while be golfing program is being utilized along with an event at softball field I want to thank you all for the opportunity to share what we've been doing on these capital projects and we're very excited about the continual process to help improve the facilities thank you very much for your time
